Arrow Who here has wagered at Betting Exchanges?

If you have ever done so, what do you think of them compared with the standard way of betting against the book?

I prefer betting against another player and I also believe that betting exchanges are the future...

And, it's almost arrived...

Thoughts?

harder to win at an exchange that is full of current sharp lines to the second...much easier to beat a book that puts out a number, might have an opinion, slow to move a line, etc... but if you have to wager on a game and its 15 minutes before game time your shooping best price would usually be at matchbook exchange on both sides! much to like...

I've been playing at Matchbook for the past 3 years.

In addition to the lowest juice available, their live in-game betting is second to none.

I never have, although with football approaching I would really like it if someone had the time to start a thread and educate some of us in the stone age of how it works and some of the better ways of going about it.

Have done it and they are good to have in your arsenal but they cannot be all you have. Still plenty of reasons to have the traditional books as outs as well.

I opened an account at matchbook but i would not use it for everything mainly because you can not do parlays and teasers. but it is a great way to cut out the middle man and increase your odds of winning longer term.

Yeah - why not? The players are doing all the work. All you do is take a risk-free cut.

Exactly! You give gamblers what they want (low vig), your costs are low, and you never have to worry about equalizing action on both sides.

It's nice to have as many outs as you can, but these days you don't need more than about 5. ( if from USA).

MB should be your primary out, unless you specialize in props or something MB lacks. Then a couple of -105 places, and maybe a Bookmaker/Greek for openers.

I used to have up to 20 different books funded at a time, and well over 100 books ( Neteller days).

Today, I wouldn't go much beyond 5 books. Rarely even beyond MB and 5D, but Phoenix, Jamaica, Firstfidelity ,Vegasvic, are reasonable to have for baseball. Very few others.

I use Matchbook and love it. Easy to make a mistake when putting up an offer so you have to be careful to learn the system first. I consider teasers and parlays bad bets so I don't miss them at Matchbook, and they have plenty of futures which I do well with. Also, I enjoy the fact that Matchbook leaves futures up so offers can be made after the start of a particular season. More props would be nice, but if I was forced to fund only one account, it would be Matchbook.

You don't have to worry about getting paid from an exchange. They should have enough dough to pay all customers. Never heard of anybody getting run from an exchange for winning too much. Everybody is treated the same. No dual lines that I can tell. Some latency in offers from other players being put up on the screen / automation by some parties somewhere/ refreshes just don't provide 100% accuracy to the second prices.

But, it's all about value to win there so unless the player makes his own line and originates I don't see where he could get enough value to win long term.

Their baseball interactives have had pretty weak liquidity lately. I assume, it is becoming a shark tank of sharps and there is just no value ever being offered.

I agree, you'd have to making the offers, not taking them, and have instant scores for every game to keep offers good ( for you). I don't know if you'd even get many takers.

I use Matchbook. Lines are unbeatable. The majority of my plays I am paid a commission by Matchbook.

It's more difficult for me to deposit to Betjamaica.

Easiest way is to transfer from another book. My Visa works with MB, but not Jam.

Gold-pay seems to be catching on with more books, both of these have it.
