I installed extra controller on my motherboard so I could get my Blu-Ray drive to work with my mother board. When doing this, I some how change the BIOS setting to power lite mode and did not realize it. It took me a year to figure out why my USB 2.0 never got there full transer rate. I spent a great deal of time trying to figure what was wrong with my USB ports. The manufacture was going to let me return the board for a new one but I never got around to it. It would of been a pain to take the computer apart and send the mother board back.
I know this is not a great story like in Office Space or American Pie. Well Office Space was in the work place so I guess that does not really count. |

About 10 years ago the company I was working for was bought. The new owner came to our location and gave a speech to all the employees about "your jobs are safe, etc,etc." The guy's appearance was very strange, he was kind of grey and sickly looking. Anyway we all knew he was lieing about virtually everything so after the meeting I went back to my desk and fired off an email to my buddy (who prefaced everything he said with "dude"). I wrote "Dude do you sleep in a coffin or what?". No reply. It was lunchtime so I left. When I got back there was a message on my phone from the new boss about an email he had received from me and he wanted to know what it was about and what were my intentions etc......I stammered my way through an explanation of "Oh, I meant to send it to someone else who I had not heard from in a long time and it was an attempt at humor". The guy was pissed and I expected to be fired that day but was not. About a month later the guy died from cancer.
