| Americans throw more than 40 tea parties Citizens answer Rick Santelli's call, unite for nationwide protest Posted: February 25, 2009 11:40 pm Eastern By Chelsea Schilling © 2009 WorldNetDaily Americans are saying enough is enough to extravagant government spending and throwing more than 40 tea parties across the nation in protest of the recent bailouts and "stimulus" package. Kellen Giuda, an architect who was recently laid-off, is organizing his own New York City tea party. He has invited several prominent guest speakers, including politicians, elected officials, an author, blogger, a bond trader and a former contestant on "America's Next Top Model" to speak out against excessive government spending. "I saw Rick Santelli's rant, live, and thought it was awesome," he told WND. "All of this fiscal irresponsibility is absurd." He continued, "Then I started hearing about tea parties, and I decided to do it. It's really exciting. There are a lot of people getting involved now." As WND reported, CNBC analyst Rick Santelli became a YouTube sensation after he spoke out against President Obama's proposed $275 billion deficit-financed homeowner bailout plan and other massive spending measures with a call for a new "tea party" from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Giuda is working with Alex Zablocki, top staffer for New York State Sen. Andrew Lanza, to coordinate the New York event. Possible speakers include Kathleen Troia McFarland, deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs at the Pentagon from 1982 to 1985 under President Ronald Reagan; Brett Joshpe, conservative author and graduate of Harvard Law School; Sara-Racey Tabrizi, "America's Next Top Model" contestant and professional model and various elected officials. The tea party will take place Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. in City Hall Park in Manhattan. Giuda said similar nationwide events are becoming very popular as a growing number of Americans prepare to take to the streets. "It's time we start fighting back with our own voice," he said. "America has a history of revolting and standing up to unfair taxation. It's really fun and exciting." (Story continues below) Meanwhile, outraged citizens are organizing more than 40 tea party events across the nation. Official sponsors of the events include Top Conservatives on Twitter, Smart Girl Politics, Don'tGo Movement, FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity. Most of the tea parties will take place Feb. 27. The following are a few scheduled tea parties: Fayetteville, N.C. Feb. 27 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the state capitol Floridians Unite is looking down the road and planning an Orlando Tea Party for March 21. "This will be a peaceful rally to unite our voices and express the love that we have for our great nation and the principles it was founded on," states the Floridians Unite website. "We want to make our politicians hear loud and clear that we are tired of the bailouts, the wasteful Washington spending and the push towards the socialization of this country! We want less government! We want to decide where our hard-earned money goes instead of the elitist politicians in Washington taking it and using it to buy votes, doling it out to special interest groups and pork barrel projects! We want our constitutional rights preserved and protected, not trampled on!" At the Pittsburgh, Pa., Tea Party on April 11, organizers are inviting people to help them reenact the Boston Tea Party of Dec. 16, 1773, by bringing one tea bag each to Point State Park with plans of actually tossing the tea into the Alleghany, Monongahela and Ohio rivers. "Somebody in our government needs to finally pay attention," said Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck on his radio program last week. "It is what I've been talking about that was coming for a very long time, and that is disenfranchisement, which will turn into anger and then turn into God knows what." CNBC analyst Rick Santelli is hoping those demonstrations will result in real change. During the televised segment where Santelli revived the term "tea party," CNBC panelist Wilbur Ross, chairman and CEO of WL Ross & Co., interjected, "Rick, I congratulate you on your new incarnation as a revolutionary leader." "Somebody needs one," Santelli responded. "I'll tell you what, if you read our Founding Fathers, people like Benjamin Franklin and Jefferson, what we're doing in this country now is making them roll over in their graves." | |||||

| Orlando 'Tea Party' rally draws more than 4,000 Valerie Rike, 52, (left) with sister Christy Bishop, 59, attend the 'Orlando Tea Party,' a conservative rally Saturday at Lake Eola, downtown Orlando. (Helen Eckinger, Orlando Sentinel / March 21, 2009) Singer Lloyd Marcus told the crowd assembled in Lake Eola Park on Saturday that he was going to give them his take on the first days of the Obama administration. Then he shrieked. That pretty much summed up the mood in the park Saturday afternoon, when more than 4,000 people attended the Orlando Tea Party, a conservative rally aimed at expressing discontent with Washington. "This is maybe the greatest single gathering of God-fearing patriots in the history of Orlando, Florida," local conservative radio host Bud Hedinger, who emceed the event, told the crowd. Related links The attendees, many of whom said they'd heard about the rally on Hedinger's radio show, brandished flags and homemade signs bearing slogans such as "Repeal the pork or our bacon is cooked" and "Obama lied, liberty died." "We're really scared about what's happening in our country," said Debby Whisenand, 71, of Largo in Pinellas County. She waved a sign that read "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money" on one side, and "You can't blame Bush anymore" on the other. Her feelings were shared by Lisa Feroli, one of the event's organizers, who said that a similar fear motivated her to e-mail Hedinger with the idea for the Orlando Tea Party. "The goal was to get people united, to let people know that they aren't alone in their feelings on despair," Feroli said. "We want to speak out against the push toward socialization that we feel is taking place in our country." Several speakers addressed the crowd, estimated by Orlando police and event organizers at 4,200, on a variety of topics, including gun rights, freedom of speech, the dangers of communism and, most prevalently, the economy, especially the Obama administration's bailout plan. "We have had enough of massive government-driven bailout using our money," Hedinger said, prompting the crowd to start chanting "U.S.A." over and over. The country's economic woes weighed heavily on attendees, such as Ed Squire, 52, of Winter Springs. Holding a sign that read "Obama he's robbin U.S. not Robin Hood," he said that he was worried about the current rate of government spending. "There's absolutely no way as a nation that we can sustain that kind of spending," Squire said. Several members of the crowd said they'd recently been laid off, including Ross Iannarelli, 66, of Port Orange, who said he'd just lost his job at an electrical-equipment company. "They need to shove that bum out," he said, referring to President Obama. "I hate seeing them spend my grandchildren's money." Glenn Austin, 52, and his wife, Frankie, 43, of Oviedo, also said they were anxious about the economy. They chose to express their worries, however, in a rather novel way: They wrapped banners calling for the end of the Federal Reserve around the tiny waists of their Chihuahua, Pepper, and miniature pinscher-Chihuahua mix, Peanut. "Everything's gone to the dogs," Frankie Austin said. Helen Eckinger can be reached at heckinger@orlandosentinel.com or 352-742-5934 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Santelli: ya mean the assclown who did the following? Source: Examiner Today's losers losing their homes are Republican districts. At least according to the Center for Responsible Lending, who has just issued a new report that shows nine of the top ten districts with the most foreclosures are Republican and most likely to receive the bulk of any homeowner bailout, and thus, at least according to one On Air editor of a major cable network, fit the definition of "losers". Things look a little better further down the list. However, only six of the 22 districts with more than 10,000 foreclosures projected are represented by Democrats, and only two of those have served a full term. So 20 of the 22 have been in Republican hands until very recently. In other words, "Since the Rick Santelli's of the world have been complaining about how the people who would be helped by this bill are so 'irresponsible' and are really just a bunch of 'losers.' .... Rick Santelli's 'losers' may turn out to be the people who are supposedly his ideological fellow travelers." | If 800Gambler is gonna be up at the "big rally" in Dallas one can bet his good GOP "Buddies" will be there ... from what OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION? http://online.logcabin.org/ Who We Are Log Cabin Republicans is the nation's only organization of Republicans who support fairness, freedom, and equality for gay and lesbian Americans. Log Cabin has state and local chapters nationwide, full-time staff in California and Washington, DC, a federal political action committee, and state political action committees. What We Believe We are loyal Republicans. We believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets, low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Log Cabin represents an important part of the American family—taxpaying, hard working people who proudly believe in this nation's greatness. We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty and equality. We believe equality for gay and lesbian people is in the finest tradition of the Republican Party. We educate our Party about why inclusion wins. Opposing gay and lesbian equality is inconsistent with the GOP's core principles of smaller government and personal freedom. Why We Exist Log Cabin Republicans work to make the Republican Party more inclusive, particularly on gay and lesbian issues. Equality will be impossible to achieve without Republican votes. Working from inside the Party—educating other Republicans about gay and lesbian issues—is the most effective way to gain new Republican allies for equality. Log Cabin also exists as a voice for GOP va GO "TEAR EM UP IN DALLAS" YOU BIG SAVAGE GOPer!!!! MAKE MARY CHENEY PROUD OF YA !!!! |

| Americans are TEA'd by Newt Gingrich Americans are used to April 15th being the day you're told to pay up. This year, Tax Day is the day to say you're TEA'd - Taxed Enough Already. As you read this, liberals in Congress are beginning the process of forcing passage of the $3.6 trillion, high-spending, high-borrowing and high-taxing Obama budget. And what could they possibly be saying about a budget that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicted last week will lead to deficits $2.3 trillion larger than the Obama White House is telling us? Once again, we see Washington promoting irresponsible spending and expecting responsible taxpayers to foot the bill. Here's what you can do to fight back: On April 15, join your fellow Americans at Tax Day Tea Parties across the nation to say no to the Obama budget. I want to tell you about two groups that are helping to organize the Tea Parties. Why these two groups? I will tell you in a minute and explain how you can participate. Get Involved in a Tax Day Tea Party on April 15 You won't read about it in the elite media, but tens of thousands of Americans in hundreds of American communities are organizing Tax Day Tea Parties for this April 15th. Some communities have already held Tea Parties to fight back against Wall Street and Washington insiders who'd rather taxpayers ask fewer questions and write more checks. Over 4,000 turned out in Orlando this past weekend. More came out in Cincinnati than at anytime since the Vietnam War protests. But all of this has been a warm-up act for April 15. The Reagan Coalition is Reassembling itself to Fight the Obama Budget Some Tea Party participants call themselves "God-fearing patriots," and it's a good description for the movement that is gaining strength. In outrage against the billions of our dollars being used to pay for the irresponsible behavior of others - and the trillions more in the Obama budget that will be used to expand government even further into our lives - the Reagan coalition of the faithful and the fiscally conservative is reassembling. There's no super-rich sugar daddy like George Soros pulling the strings. There's no special interest group like Moveon.org creating the illusion of a grassroots movement. And it's not a taxpayer-funded "protest" group like ACORN. It's just ordinary Americans who believe in preserving American values and principles like faith, freedom and smaller government. That's why I want to tell you about two groups. Each group is focusing on bringing like-minded people together at the same events. The first group is TaxDayTeaParty.com, a broad coalition of grassroots groups which has already organized many of the Tea Parties that you probably heard about. They have already confirmed more than 250 locations in all 50 states for the April 15 Tea Parties. The second group is TeaPartyDay.com which is a joint effort by Renewing American Leadership and the American Family Association. They are committed to bringing people of faith and their families to the Tea Parties. Over 10,000 are already signed up. Get Your Tea Party Tool Kit at AmericanSolutions.com American Solutions has created a Tea Party Tool Kit that you can download and pass out at your local Tea Party. The Tool Kit is designed to communicate, not just that we're angry, but that we have a bold agenda with better solutions that will actually get our economy growing again. It's available here. The Tea Party Tool Kit's key component is 12 American Solutions for Jobs and Prosperity, a pro-growth, pro-freedom alternative to the irresponsible policies of the Obama budget. April 15 is just 20 days away. Go to AmericanSolutions.com/TeaParty now to find a Tax Day Tea Party near you and get involved. Secretary Geithner Has Lost the Confidence of the American People - If He Ever Had It to Begin With Another reason to come out to a Tax Day Tea Party is to let President Obama know that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has lost the confidence of the American people and needs to resign.
And since then, the news has only gotten worse. As I wrote last week, from the beginning of the crisis last fall, Geithner has been central to the Bush-Obama policy of corporate bailouts that has enriched Wall Street firms with the taxpayers' money. The Joke's On Us: Goldman Sachs Never Needed a Bailout The latest revelation is perhaps the worst yet. Remember how the Paulson-Geithner-Bernanke bailout of AIG was initially sold to the American people? We were told that failing to prop up the firm with taxpayer dollars would let loose a cascading failure of the entire banking system. It turns out that this was never exactly true. That's right. Goldman Sachs Chief Financial Officer David Viniar announced last week that his firm never needed the taxpayers' help after all. Goldman Sachs, it turns out, wouldn't have failed if AIG had been allowed to fail. The reason Viniar made the announcement was to divert the public's attention from allegations that Goldman profited handsomely from the bailout of AIG. But in trying to tamp down one scandal, Viniar has revealed another: The ground on which Paulson, Geithner and Bernanke sold the $170 billion AIG bailout was - at least partially - a lie. The Top Four Beneficiaries of the AIG Bailout? Goldman Sachs and Three Foreign Banks So if we didn't avert a banking crisis with the AIG bailout, what exactly have the taxpayers gotten for their $170 billion? Well, nothing so far. But here's the list of the top four beneficiaries of the AIG bailout:
Add the other TARP funds Goldman Sachs received to the AIG pass-through money and you get an astounding total of $23 billion from the taxpayers. All for a company that now says it never needed help to begin with. If that's not a reason to come to a Tax Day Tea Party on April 15, I don't know what is. See you there.

| Gingrich is now trying to get into bed with the dumbass Catholic airheads Ohhhhh .... this is great!!! I cant wait to watch this fatass deadbeat Father Crash/Burn a plane wreck with him, Cheney and Palin would bring a smile to my face as I would realize then that God is indeed alive and well FUCK GINGRICH .... SERVED HIS 1ST WIFE DIVORCE PAPERS WHEN SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR CANCER !!! Rediscovering God in America (2007) Starring: Newt Gingrich, Callista Gingrich http://www.amazon.com/Rediscovering-...ase/B000YSO8MY Newt Gingrich, well established crusader against legislation that assists women and the poor, has married three times while spouting Christian values the entire time. Newt Gingrich's campaign worker Anne Manning, admitted that she gave Newt oral sex while he was still married to his first wife, essentially placing Newt in the exact same position President Clinton had to endure when Gingrich and his cronies maintained their pressure over the Lewinski incident. Gingrish informed one wife he was filing for divorce while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer treatments. Quotes: "We had oral sex. He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, 'I never slept with her.'" - Anne Manning (who was also married at the time.) "We would have won in 1974 if we could have kept him out of the office, screwing her [a young volunteer] on the desk." - Dot Crews, his campaign scheduler at the time [In the book] "Men Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them", [i] "found frightening pieces that related to my own life." - Newt. "I think you can write a psychological profile of me that says I found a way to immerse my insecurities in a cause large enough to justify whatever I wanted it to" - Newt, speaking to Gail Sheehy. "She isn't young enough or pretty enough to be the President's wife." - Newt, on his first wife. "I don't want him to be president and I don't think he should be." - Newt's wife Marianne. "If the country today were to move to the left, Newt would sense it before it started happening and lead the way." - Dot Crews, his campaign scheduler throughout the 1970s. Adultery: Sex on the Desk - Oral Sex is More Easily Denied Several newspapers are now reporting that Newt Gingrich is dating and basically living with Callista Bisek, a "willowy blond Congressional aide 23 years his junior." Biske, 33, has been spending nights at Gingrich's apartment near the Capitol and has her own key. In an amazing act of hypocrisy, Gingrich was apparently dating Bisek all during Clinton-Lewinsky adultery scandal, even as he proclaimed family values and bitterly criticized the President for his adultery. Reporters and other Washington insiders have known about this relationship since 1994, even before Gingrich became Speaker of the House, but did not have any solid proof to report. In 1995, Vanity Fair magazine described Bisek as Gingrich's "frequent breakfast companion." Gingrich was married to Marianne Gingrich during all of that time, and just filed for divorce in August 1999. Newt is apparently trying to create a new hybrid form, Christian adultery. According to MSNBC, Bisek sings in the National Shrine Choir, and Newt would often wait for her at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, listening to her sing while he read the Bible. This is hardly the first time Newt has cheated, either. "It was common knowledge that Newt was involved with other women during his [first] marriage to Jackie. Maybe not on the level of John Kennedy. But he had girlfriends -- some serious, some trivial." -- Dot Crews, his campaign scheduler throughout the 70s. One woman, Anne Manning, has come forward and confirmed a relationship with him during the 1976 campaign. "We had oral sex. He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, 'I never slept with her.'" Kip Carter, his former campaign treasurer, was walking Newt's daughters back from a football game one day and cut across a driveway where he saw a car. "As I got to the car, I saw Newt in the passenger seat and one of the guys' wives with her head in his lap going up and down. Newt kind of turned and gave me this little-boy smile. Fortunately, Jackie Sue and Kathy were a lot younger and shorter then." Family Values? Pressing Wife for Divorce in the Hospital: "He walked out in the spring of 1980.... By September, I went into the hospital for my third surgery. The two girls came to see me, and said, "Daddy is downstairs. Could he come up?" When he got there, he wanted to discuss the terms of the divorce while I was recovering from my surgery." - Jackie, his first wife. Dead-Beat Dad: The hospital visit wasn't the end of it, either. Jackie had to take Newt to court to get him to contribute for bills, as utilities were about to be cut off. Draft Dodger: Though he relentlessly pushes military spending and talks like a bigtime hawk, Gingrich avoided the Vietnam War through a combination of student and family deferments. (He married one of his teachers at age 19.) Problems With Women? Newt pressed his first wife to sign divorce papers while she was still in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery. He also graciously said "She isn't young enough or pretty enough to be the President's wife." But his second marriage hasn't been that smooth either. Newt and Marianne have been separated - "frankly", she told the Washington Post in June 1989, "it's been on and off for some time." Does Newt have some kind of problem with women? He has said that he read a book called "Men Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them", and "found frightening pieces that related to my own life." Incidentally, Marianne told Gail Sheehy she doesn't want Newt to run for President. " I told him if I'm not in agreement, fine, it's easy. I just go on the air the next day, and I undermine everything. ... I don't want him to be president and I don't think he should be." Newt's response? Marianne "was just making the point hypothetically" that he would not run unless she agreed he should. House Banking Scandal: Newt Bounced 22 Checks Remember the House Banking scandal, where so many congressmen wrote rubber checks on government money? Newt hopes you don't, because he bounced 22 himself, which almost cost him reelection in 1992. His vote for the secret House pay raise, and the chauffeur who drove him around Washington in a Lincoln Town Car, didn't help. Lucrative and Questionable Book Deals: Murdoch's $4.5 Million wasn't the first The 1995 Murdoch Deal --- The 1984 Book Deal The 1995 Murdoch Deal You probably heard something about Newt's book scandal. He was offered first $2.5 million, then $4.5 million by Harper Collins, a publishing company owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns the Fox TV network and newspapers and TV stations around the world. Murdoch has been having problems with a complaint by NBC that Fox is a foreign owned TV network, which is against US law. In the past, Harper Collins has offered million dollar book contracts to several conservative politicians in countries where Murdoch was having regulatory trouble, including England (Margaret Thatcher, Jeffrey Archer) and China (Deng Xiaoping's daughter). A week after the initial offer, Newt met with Rupert Murdoch - and Murdoch's legislative lobbyist - to discuss politics, including the NBC complaint. As facts about the deal were made public, and even Republicans criticized him, Gingrich decided to give up the $4.5 million advance for a still-lucrative deal based on royalties. Gingrich's story kept changing through the controversy. First, Newt's spokesman said that Murdoch knew nothing about Gingrich and the book deal. On Friday January 13, Newt's spokesman admitted that Murdoch actually met Newt on a park bench the week before the deal was made, but didn't talk about it. He also said he knew nothing about Murdoch's lobbyist being at their meeting. The next day, he admitted the lobbyist was there, but claimed he didn't say so because no one asked. Newt also said repeatedly that the book wasn't his idea; that a literary agent named Lynn Chu had sought him out and proposed it. After Ms. Chu said that Gingrich's associate Jeff Eisenach called her first on Newt's behalf, Eisenach and Newt's spokesman admitted that was true. The 1984 Book Deal Murdoch's book deal wasn't the first lucrative and controversial book deal Newt engineered. In 1983 he established a limited partnership in Atlanta called COS Limited, which pulled together about two dozen of his biggest campaign contributors to finance his book. The former administrator of his congressional offices in Georgia, Dolores Adamson, resigned over the deal. "The manuscript was put together in the district office using office equipment," she said. "He would just come in and say 'This is what I want to do.' I would say, 'This is not ethical," but after a while he didn't listen." That office equipment, of course, was paid for by US taxpayers including you. GOPAC sleaze: Taxpayer subsidies for his partisan campaign course. Newt in his poltical career was the king of using tax-payer subsidized donations for his personal and political purposes. He stooped so low as to hijack not one but two charities for poor inner city kids and use their donations for his personal goals. GOPAC, Newt's longtime political action committee, was the centerpiece of a complex network of non-profit, and mostly tax exempt organizations that Newt has used to support himself and other conservative candidates. In an act of incredible hypocrisy, this crusader against taxes obtained taxpayer subsidies for his personal and political goals, by misusuing these tax-exempt groups. For example, one GOPAC document said that its goal for the 1990s was "to both create and disseminate the doctrine of a majority Republican party." In another GOPAC document, titled "Key Factors in a House GOP Majority," Gingrich wrote "It is more powerful and more effective to develop a reform movement parallel to the official Republican party", instead of using the party structure, because it would get more attention and be more credible. Shortly thereafter, GOPAC paid for a television program promoting a "grassroots" movement to reform government; publicly they claimed it was nonpartisan, but private internal documents made its partisan goals clear. After it got expensive, Gingrich transferred the program to the "Abraham Lincoln Opportunity Foundation," a tax-exempt group controlled by a GOPAC official named Bo Callaway. It had been set up years earlier to help inner city kids, which is why it was tax exempt. The group spent $260,000 on the television program in 1990. That same year, Newt started another tax-exempt group that paid poor students for reading books. He bragged of this in many a political speech. But after the first two years, most of this foundation's money went to Mel Steely, a former Gingrich aide who is now Newt's official biographer. The best known effort was a college course (titled "Renewing American Civilization") at a third-rate college that Gingrich nakedly used to recruit and organize conservative candidates, and to feed them his carefully constructed ideology and political slogans. Of course, using tax-exempt educational or charitable donations for partisan purposes is illegal, and several ethics complaints were filed against Gingrich. He agreed to pay a $300,000 fine for misleading the committee during the investigation, and in the process dodged conviction on the actual charges through a combination of finessing some legal definitions, sheer self-confidence and raw political power (as Speaker of the House at the time of the complaints, he appointed the ethics committee. Furthermore, GOPAC had one ethics committee member on its roster last session, and gave money to another.) The Ethics Committee dropped its final charges against Gingrich not long before he resigned as speaker, despite finding that Gingrich had in fact violated one rule by repeatedly using a political consultant paid by GOPAC to develop the Republican political agenda, because there was no evidence he was continuing to do so. The IRS also started an investigation of one group, the Progress and Freedom Foundation, for violating its tax-exempt status by donating to Gingrich's college course. In the investigation, the special counsel found that these activities were "substantially motivated by partisan political goals." The IRS eventually overruled him, and found that the course "was educational and never favored or opposed a candidate for public office.'' It said the foundation ``did not intervene on behalf of candidates of the Republican Party merely by promoting'' themes in the course. This extremely narrow reading of the law basically said "so what if he used the course to recruit, organize and groom candidates; as long as they didn't say 'Vote for Jones', it wasn't partisan." Despite what Gingrich fans argue, this hardly proves his innocence. The IRS has chickened out before in political cases, notably letting the Church of Scientology completely off the hook in its investigation of that group. Corporate reward: $2,500/month to Newt's wife According to the Wall Street Journal, a company hired Marianne Gingrich (Newt's wife) for $2,500 a month plus commissions in September 1994 after he announced support for a free trade zone in Israel that they are trying to build. Her "job" for Israel Export Development Co. is to find tenants for the trade zone. Gingrich's spokesman said that since her job did not involve working with the US government, there was no conflict of interest. Who Owns Him? - Rupert Murdoch (see book deal above) - Georgia's Richards family, owners of Southwire Corporate ($1.3 billion/year) The Richards lent and donated money and office space to Gingrich from his earliest days in politics. They have given over $100,000, and Gingrich was the first recipient of donations from Southwire's PAC. By coincidence, Gingrich has changed from an environmentalist critic of Southwire to a staunch anti-environmentalist during that time. People with ties to Southwire were instrumental in two earlier lucrative book deals of Gingrich's in 1977 and 1984; the latter was investigated for ethical violations. The Busted Effort to Blame Enron on Bill Clinton and the Democrats Have you noticed that the right wing has suddenly grown almost silent over how Bill Clinton and the Democrats were the real cause behind the Enron scandal? You heard it constantly for a day or two, or three, from the usual gang at the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Faux, not to mention various corporate-sponsored right-wing vanity sites. And you still hear echoes of it from the likes of CNN's Jonathan Karl -- a conservative who regularly lets his partisanship show, most recently in his biased attack on Senator Fritz Hollings. But, mostly, there is silence where once there was noise. How come? Simple. Clinton and the Democrats did not cause the Enron disaster. The Clinton Administration tried to PREVENT disasters like Enron from occurring -- and were stopped by the deregulation-crazed, corporate shill Republicans. Here's a handy guide on the subject, with half-a-dozen of the bigger reasons why the right wing has suddenly gone missing on this matter. Download it and send it to your friends -- and to anyone out there who still thinks it's possible to fob this Republican scandal off onto Bill Clinton and the Democrats. How the Clinton Administration and the Democrats Tried to Prevent the Enron Disaster from Happening 1) Stopping Auditor-Consulting Conflicts by Accountants In 2000, Clinton Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Arthur Levitt, Jr. proposed regulations to prohibit accounting firms from simultaneously serving as consultants and auditors. Arthur Andersen and other accounting firms mounted a massive lobbying campaign against the Clinton-Levitt regulations, killing them. The lead lobbyist for the accounting firms was Harvey Pitt. After being sworn in as President, George W. Bush named Pitt chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission. 2) Greater Disclosure of Energy Derivatives In 1997, Bill Clintons Commodities Futures Trading Commission Chair Brooksley Born proposed greater regulation (by way of more stringent disclosure) of energy derivatives, the key financial instrument in Enron's Ponzi-scheme empire. Her proposal was beaten back by House Republicans, including then-House Banking Committee Chair Jim Leach (R-IA) who scolded her for two hours at a hearing. 3) Oversight of Energy Traders In 2000, William Rainier, Born's successor as chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, told Congress that he was "deeply concerned" about a bill to exempt energy trading from CFTC review, noting that those who trade energy derivatives were not subject to any other oversight. Rainer's objections were largely ignored by the Republican-controlled Congress, and the exemption, heavily backed by Enron, became law. 4) Cracking Down on Tax Havens In 2000, Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers proposed a crackdown on tax havens such as those used by Enron. With the US co-chairing the OECD's Forum on Harmful Tax Practices, Summers crusaded for a crackdown on money-laundering and tax havens. His proposal was opposed by the GOP Congress. When the Bush Administration took office, Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill abandoned Summers' crusade, telling the Wall Street Journal, "The government has not been respectful of the cost it imposes on society." The New York Times reported that Bush's top economic adviser, Lawrence Lindsey (a former economic adviser to Enron) also opposed efforts to crack down on tax havens. 5) Protecting 401(k)s In 1997: Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) proposed banning investment of more than 10 percent of the total 401(k) plan in the employer's stock--the maximum that investment experts recommend a person sink into any company. The GOP Senate watered down her bill so much it no longer applied to any corporation in America; 6) Protecting Investors and Shareholders On December 20, 1995, President Clinton vetoed the Public Securities Litigation Reform Act, which would have restricted lawsuits against corporation accused of securities fraud. In his veto message, Clinton presciently noted that while he supported the notion of reducing frivolous lawsuits: "I am not, however, willing to sign legislation that will have the effect of closing the courthouse door on investors who have legitimate claims. Those who are the victims of fraud should have recourse in our courts. Our markets are as strong and effective as they are because they operate -- and are seen to operate -- with integrity. I believe that this bill, as modified in conference, could erode this crucial basis of our markets' strength." The GOP Congress overrode Clinton's veto. Wendy Gramm, wife of Texas Republican Senator Phil Gramm also aided Enrons rise to power. As the lame-duck chairwoman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, she pushed through a key regulatory exemption on Jan. 14, 1993, six days before Clinton took office. Five weeks later, she joined Enrons board of directors. "The exemption was passed over the objection of the Clinton administration." What's that you say, WSJ? MSNBC? FOX? CNN? Clinton was to blame?

| Cape "tea party" canceled; City fears too many attendees CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A tea party to protest government spending and taxing is canceled. Canceled by the government. Why? They feel too many people could show-up. Lynn Rosko planned to hold a tax payer tea party at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral on April 1st. The idea was announced at a Cape Coral City Council meeting, then an e-mail blast by the Republican Party and it was mentioned in the local media. With all of that attention, the City of Cape Coral felt there could be more than 500 people attending the tea party. Therefore Rosko needed to get a permit and insurance for the event. Rosko says she's not willing to get insurance and accept liability for something that a stranger could do. Rosko told WINK News, "I have rescinded any organizing or supervision or what ever you want to call it over this tea party on April 1st." WINK News spoke to the director of parks for Cape Coral. He says that even now if Rosko is willing to get insurance for the event he'll likely re-authorize it. For now Rosko's event is canceled, she's encouraging people to attend the April 15th Tax Payer Tea Party in Centennial Park in Fort Myers. Be A Part of This Very Special Interest Group

| REVOLUTIONARY IDEA Tax Day party count nearing 2,000 U.S. cities Mainstream media may run, but they can't hide from protest tidal wave Posted: April 04, 2009 12:10 am Eastern By Chelsea Schilling © 2009 WorldNetDaily While WND has been tracking 400 individual tea parties across the nation, the American Family Association has announced its count is nearing 1,600 for Tax Day alone. The AFA, planned to coordinate 1,000 Taxed Enough Already, or TEA, parties to be held at 12 p.m. on April 15 in front of city halls across the nation. But the group is pleasantly surprised as is stands to double that goal before Tax Day is here. "Our goal was to have a TEA party in 1,500 cities. We are nearly 100 cities above our goal and still growing," said Donald E. Wildmon, AFA chairman. The AFA sponsored TEA parties are in addition to hundreds of parties planned by other groups. Taxpayers are also organizing tea parties for Independence Day and various Saturdays so people with conflicting work schedules may attend. Meanwhile, a Google Maps list shows several locations of citizen tea parties so many that the United States is nearly hidden behind a sea of blue markers. Wildmon said the protests are essential because the government's reckless spending is burdening America with insurmountable debt. "The runaway spending by President Obama and Congress will have a definite negative effect on our families," he said. "We are leaving a debt of trillions of dollars to be paid by our grandchildren and great-grandchildren." The organization launched a Tea Party Day website so volunteer organizers may register their protests with AFA. The website also provides a list of other protests across the nation that are not organized by AFA. Tell Congress to stop spending America into the ground! Sign the WND petition demanding lawmakers stop the bailouts, stimulus bills and march toward socialism and national destruction. Michael DePrimo, special counsel to AFA President Tim Wildmon, told WND that AFA has been inundated with e-mails from citizens who want to attend or organize tea parties in their own cities. "We're trying to get people to attend these and we're also encouraging others if there is no tea party in their community to start their own," he said. "All we're trying to do is really generate activity to try to try to get people to attend these rallies to really send a message to Washington." The group encourages tea party attendees to bring a cell phone and call the president, 202-456-1414, and Congress, 202-224-3121, while attending the rallies. ( While many mainstream media outlets have provided little to no coverage of the nation's numerous tea parties so far, DePrimo said the growing movement is proof that Americans no longer need them to launch a widespread revolution. "I think the media does whatever the media choose to do," he said. "We're all aware that the media have a liberal bias. I suppose if it's big enough, they will report on it. If they think it really may spur some change in Washington that the media elites don't want, they may ignore the story altogether." De Primo continued, "The good news is that with the Internet Facebook, texting and with all the ways we can communicate today, we don't necessarily need the mainstream media anymore. The message can get out without them." WND has also launched its own tea party forum so citizens may exchange ideas, information and announcements about the "revolution." After reviewing various website protest listings and e-mails from many readers, WND found 400 tea parties scheduled for upcoming months and compiled one of the most complete lists on the Internet. | I posted this in another thread, but the giggle factor it will provide for others merits its reposting. . . ___________________________________________ http://www.star-telegram.com/electio...y/1305537.html ____________________________________________________________ Wednesday, Apr 8, 2009 Posted on Tue, Apr. 07, 2009 Bud Kennedy: Burleson Tea Party is about taxes (and secession)BUD KENNEDY The Republic of Texas movement is coming to protest in Burleson next week.So are "Citizen Patriots" who want to "take the fight" and promise "a coming storm."bud@star-telegram.com So are Ron Paul supporters and John Birch Society activists obsessed with the Illuminati conspiracy, the Trilateral Commission and anything that smacks of a global economy. They’re coming for their own little Tea Party. From its beginnings as an anti-tax protest for people who don’t understand how much of our North Texas economy depends on federal spending, the April 15 event has evolved into a festival for the fringe. Not all Tea Party events are run by cultists and conspiracy hobbyists. But guess who’s coming to Burleson? While mainstream Republican Party leaders will run the protests in Fort Worth and Weatherford — even promoting them as party events — the Burleson protest seems like a third-party event bashing both Democrats and Republicans. Larry Kilgore of Mansfield, a former Constitution Party candidate now calling for Texas independence and running for governor in the 2010 Republican primary, said the Burleson Tea Party is on his side. "They’re my supporters, and they support Texas secession," he said. "The United States is leading us down the wrong road. The only way to freedom is Texas secession." That’s a surprise to Rex Russell of Burleson, president of the local Republican club and billed as the keynote speaker for the rally April 15 at the Burleson Commons shopping center. "I got an e-mail from somebody asking me to speak," he said. "I don’t know these folks." But he said the Burleson protest is nonpartisan. "It’s about the fact that too much government and too much spending is going to get us in trouble," he said. Another unsuspecting participant is Joshua real estate agent Shirley Blex. She said she didn’t really know much about the others or their beliefs. Blex said she’s upset with Washington spending. She can’t name her congressman."We’re just normal citizens," she said. "It’s a peaceful protest about wasteful spending." The Burleson protest is already a city embarrassment. One of the organizers took a complaint about City Hall to the World Wide Web on Friday, griping on blogs that city officials were trying to run them off. City officials said they wanted them off only the highway. But in a bizarre twist, the Burleson Star — now owned by a Denver-based newspaper chain — reported the protesters’ complaint as fact. "The Burleson Tea Party committee was told by the city they cannot organize," the Star wrote on Twitter. Then, in a second alert, the newspaper accused three city workers and Mayor Ken Shetter of being "apparently behind stifling free speech." By noon, conspiracy hobbyists worldwide had responded by wallpapering Burleson with 500 angry e-mails — delivering thousands of dollars’ worth of undeserved negative publicity. The Star deleted the alerts. But the damage was done — and the Tea Party hasn’t even started. ____________________________________________________________ _____________ Can I get an over/under on number of tinfoil hats present at the "teabaggery"? |

| 500 + events already scheduled http://www.teapartyday.com/ On Saturday, July 4th, be part of the Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party rally in your community The Tax Foundation says that because of unprecedented budget deficit over $1.5 trillion, it will take each individual until May 29 to pay their taxes this year. On May 30th, you begin working for yourself instead of your government. This is wrong! Join others in your hometown and across the country by participating in the American Freedom Day rally. We suggest you have your meeting at noon in front of your city hall, but you will make the decision on where and when the rally will be. Are you fed up with a Congress and a president who:
Take the Taxes and Government Spending Poll The government will have to borrow about $1.2 trillion to pay for President Obama's new $3.4 trillion budget. Do you favor this action? Yes: 985 (1.29 %) No: 75,601 (98.71 %) To cut wasteful spending, President Obama has ordered his department heads to cut $100 million, which represents 0.0029% of his budget. Will this action help the economy? Yes: 6,298 (8.26 %) No: 69,942 (91.74 %) Do you think the Constitution should be amended to require a balanced budget each year (except in times of war)? Yes: 63,466 (84.14 %) No: 11,961 (15.86 %) Would you be in favor of instituting a flat tax, national sales tax or some other form of radical tax reform? Yes: 60,142 (80.03 %) No: 15,005 (19.97 %) If one million people stopped paying their income taxes in protest, would you join them? Yes: 30,505 (41.96 %) No: 42,191 (58.04 %) President Obama and other liberals in Congress are taking us down the road to socialism, seizing control of key banks, insurance companies, the automobile industry, etc. Is this a good thing? Yes: 984 (1.29 %) No: 75,523 (98.71 %) We are told that the federal budget deficit will continue to grow as far as the eye can see into the future. Do you think our government will ever get out of debt? Yes: 3,573 (4.70 %) No: 72,448 (95.30 %) Do you think those participating in TEA Day rallies should be classified as potential terrorists by our government? Yes: 809 (1.06 %) No: 75,607 (98.94 %) "A government can't control the economy without controlling the people. When a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve it's purpose." - Ronald Reagan (Ronald Reagan - A Time for Choosing) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Paul B. Farrell May 19, 2009, 12:01 a.m. EST22 reasons Obama will raise your taxes ... soon! 'Tax Bomb' dead ahead: Former GAO chief says your taxes will double By Paul B. Farrell, MarketWatch ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- Yes, taxes will go up. Must. Why? Debt: federal, state, corporate, bank, pensions, personal. The hole just keeps getting deeper, bigger. Well over $100 trillion of debt is being piled on future generations, while our GDP is only $15 trillion annually. Reagan was right, "government is the problem," both the GOP and the Dems. Geithner: "Things have stabilized" At a Newsweek event in Washington, D.C., Treasury Sec. Timothy Geithner said that the economy is showing signs of stabilization, including a thawing of credit markets. Even after recovery, Americans still have to learn to live within their means, he said. Video courtesy Fox News. Imagine doubling your taxes: That's what David Walker, the former U.S. comptroller general and GAO chief, recently said on CNN: "The federal government has spent more money than it takes in at an increasing rate. Total federal debt almost doubled during President George W. Bush's administration and, as much as we needed some stimulus spending to boost the economy, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office now estimates total debt levels could almost double again over the next eight years based on the budget recently outlined by President Obama," with our "tax bill doubling over time." Debt is killing the American Dream. We've mortgaged our future, and now Obama's adding a new $1.84 trillion federal deficit. That's four times Bush's record deficit last year, with deficits over $500 billion annually for the next decade. The president's gambling, doubling down, betting the farm, going "all in," with a huge bet that could break the bank. Is this America's last hand in a high-stakes poker game? More grim tax facts: A few years ago Peter Orszag, Obama's new budget director, said "balancing the budget would require a 41% cut in spending on Social Security and Medicare, a 47% cut in discretionary spending, or a 17% cut in all non-interest spending." Last week Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner gave us an update: "The longer we wait to address the long-term solvency of Medicare and Social Security, the sooner those challenges will be upon us and the harder the options will be." Those two trust funds already eat up more than a third of the federal budget and increase $2 trillion a year. Still, AARP lobbyists will fight benefits cuts more than tax increases, despite a new study: Medicare surpluses will run out in 2016, Social Security by 2037, both earlier than previously estimated. Together they account for roughly $80 trillion to $120 trillion in unfunded liabilities, with Medicare 80% of the total ... and please note, America's debt now exceeds the $50 trillion GDP of all economies in the entire world! Wake up, you're in denial, the 'tax bomb' is dead ahead Still, most Americans are in denial. We want to believe Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's recent optimism about a recovery this year: Investor sentiment got a big boost since March from that 30% market gain, many believe we've hit bottom and it's not a sucker's rally, not a dead cat bounce in a secular bear. Then we hear corporate insiders are selling their stock -- still, we're in denial. Please listen: Excessive debt virtually guarantees your taxes are going up, way up. But how much debt will drive the demand increased taxes? In March of 2008 when it looked like McCain vs. Clinton we wrote a column: "10 Reasons the New President Will Raise Your Taxes." We saw this coming, and it didn't matter who got elected, Bush left a massive hole of debt. Read previous Paul B. Farrell. But let's go back even further, to 2005 when we started surveying America's burgeoning debt as a trigger for a coming meltdown. The Dow was roughly 10,000. It peaked at 14,164 in October 2007, in spite of the obvious warning signs. Get it? Our average Main Street investors saw the global meltdown coming nearly three years before it happened. In fact, it was quite obvious to 86% of our readers back in 2005. But not to a greedy Wall Street and Reaganomics-obsessed Washington. They were in total denial into 2008. So we researched, updated and reprioritized 22 debt/deficit areas that will push us over the edge, forcing a sharp increase in taxes. There's a perfect storm dead ahead: Any one of the 22 could trigger the dominoes cascading into a black hole, demanding higher taxes, triggering the "Great Depression 2" we've discussed often. Be prepared. How to score: Give each of these areas of debt 1-5 points. Add the points for all 22. Then let us know whether/when/ how/why you think your taxes will start going up, up and away, through the roof. We'll tabulate and report back to you on the results, and some investment strategies for the future, based on your predictions, as we did in 2005: 1. Federal budget deficits/debt Federal debt is now $11.5 trillion. Add $1.4 trillion this year. That's almost 100% of GDP. 2. Social Security unfunded debt No longer a political "third rail," we have no choice: We must raise taxes, or cut benefits. 3. Medicare unfunded obligations Unfunded after 2016, $65 trillion by 2041, consuming 100% of tax revenues by 2075. 4. Health care insurance liabilities Costs rising at double the inflation rate, 47 million uninsured. Obama plans universal coverage of this mega-$2.5 trillion business. Can we trust insurers sudden offer to help? 5. Military/defense budget costs Budget $662 billion. Add veterans affairs, Afghan, Iraq: $1.45 trillion 55% of budget. 6. Homeland insecurity risks Ports, chemical plants, borders at risk. Black Swans are lurking; with unpredictable mega-buck consequences. 7. Real estate/mortgage losses Global real estate from $40 trillion to $70 trillion in 5 years. Total global wealth lost since 2007, $50 trillion. U.S. mortgages shot from $7 trillion to $14 trillion in 8 years, now down $6 trillion, with 20% of homes worth less than the mortgage. 8. Peak oil and energy alternatives Oil's soon declining. Extraction costs will exceed sale price. Nuclear energy cost: $75 trillion. Coal's dirty. Wind, biofuels: costly. 9. Cap and trade Taxing fossil-fuel emissions will increase energy costs. But it won't change much. China won't stop. So population grows, with demand and global warming. 10. Foreign trade deficits Annual deficits continue hovering around $600 billion. Foreigners buy 70% of our debt. Many convert to equity: Today foreigners own a net value of $2.5 trillion in America. 11. Corporate pensions Two-thirds of them are underfunded. Taxpayers cover losses through the Pension Benefits Guarantee Corporation, also underfunded by $500 billion. 12. Local government pensions Latest estimates of retiree benefits and health-care costs now called a "$2 trillion hole." 13. Weak U.S. dollar U.S. foreign debt nearly equals our $15 trillion GDP; China's replacing dollar reserves. 14. Personal savings debt We're consumers. Our savings rate dropped from 8% in 1980 to zero last year. Only 30% save enough to retire. And yet, economists warn increased savings would slow economic recovery. They want consumption. 15. Credit card and consumer debt Consumer debt is now at $2.5 trillion. Personal bankruptcies are rising. Still, we're card addicts. And card companies are stealing from us. 16. Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac They're owners of $5.5 trillion in mortgage debt, half the nation's total, with foreclosure rates at historic highs. 17. War on drugs Drug addiction in America plus our misguided, unwinnable supply-side wars on drugs in Mexico, Afghanistan -- all over the globe -- costs hundreds of billions annually. Worse, our domestic demands are increasing the total costs. 18. Shadow banking system The Fed and Treasury prefer secrecy with loans and credits now over $5 trillion. Auto and insurance companies now getting money. 19. Democracy by lobbyists Forget socialism, capitalism, democracy: America is run by 42,000 lobbyists. It's "Washington's Biggest Business" controlling all politicians. 20. Class gap widening CEO salaries vs. worker pay rose from 40:1 in 1980 to over 400:1 before the meltdown, while inflation-adjusted pay of workers fell. 21. International credibility With friends and enemies, our war/torture was costly. 22. What did we miss? Resources, tech, educational, environment, jobs, you pick New taxes are inevitable at this level of debt. Please, total up your scores on each of these individual tax-creating debt areas. Tell us your total score. Add comments and tell us your opinions about the coming "tax bomb:" When? How much? Can we stop it? Is this the "last hand" before the "Great Depression 2" in 2011, during Obama's next campaign? Is the president doubling down in a high-stakes poker game, betting the farm, going 'all in,' gambling on your kids/ future, with a bet that will break the Treasury?

| Government spending is filled with pork earmarks like this: The National Institutes of Health will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job. |

| Glenn Beck: The Letter
Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation: One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration. Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it. Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say. Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down! Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there. Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate. Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit? Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves. Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us. Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me. Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave. I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending. From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons. We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution. Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

| A REVOLUTIONARY IDEA Tea parties from sea to shining sea More than 2,000 tax, Big Government protests in all 50 states Posted: July 05, 2009 11:28 am Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily
WASHINGTON More than 2,000 tea parties from coast to coast attracted hundreds of thousands tax and Big Government protesters on Independence Day perhaps the biggest July 4 political event in America since the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence. From Washington and New York on the East Coast to Los Angeles and Monterey on the West Coast and all points between, Americans had their say yesterday about bailouts cap-and-trade bills and new federal spending programs that they believe are mortgaging their children's futures and robbing them of personal freedom. The turnouts that defied traditional July 4 diversions, heat and rain encouraged organizers looking forward to the next scheduled tea party events Sept. 12 in Washington, D.C. Nearly 5,000 people turned out in Oklahoma City at the state Capitol building. That protest was one of 32 in Oklahoma alone. Get ready for Sept. 12! Visit the one and only "tea party store" now. In San Antonio, Texas, between 3,000 and 4,000 gathered in intense heat throughout the day at the Rio Cibolo Ranch. Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as "Joe the Plumber," was one of the featured speakers along with Gov. Rick Perry, who became the first elected official to sign the "Contract with the Constitution," a document that espouses 10 principles including limiting the role of the federal government, protecting the right to bear arms and amending the Constitution to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
In Washington, D.C., the center of expanding federal powers, about 2,000 small-government advocates rallied to express their outrage at the trillion-dollar "stimulus" plans. "They are wasting all of our money," said Sean Albert of ]Richmond, Va. "They're not running our government like we would run our own checkbooks. When I'm out of money, I stop spending the money." (Story continues below) Hundreds also rallied in Atlanta where event organizer Bob Frady told a crowd, "It's time that we take our country back." At Miller Park in Marietta, the Cobb Independence [ Tea Party continued yesterday into a second day with more than 2,000 people in attendance. Some 2,000 people gathered in Morristown, N.J., to mark the nation's birth with and protest the growing size of government. Some signed their name on an oversized version of the Declaration of Independence. Signs in the crowd read: "Save our Constitution" and "America's no longer free."
Another dozen rallies were planned yesterday in New Jersey. "The truth of the matter is that our government has gone out of control," Vermont attorney Steven Howard told an assembled crowd in Burlington. "We have let loose the leash and now it is running rampant." In Louisville Ky., where some 1,500 turned out, Wendy Caswell, president of the local tea party organization, said: "We're definitely for upholding the Constitution, what our forefathers laid out for us, so it was an honor for us to do it on Independence Day."
"We're just trying to teach people about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights. A lot of what's going on in Congress wouldn't stand up to the Constitution," said Bernard Hargenrader at the Houma, La., tea party, where some 200 gathered at the downtown county courthouse. In Huntsville, Ala., a young medical student wore a Barack Obama mask carrying a sign that said: "Do you really want me to make medical decisions on your behalf? Just say no to government-run health care." The Huntsville rally was one of 11 scheduled in that state. Similar rallies took place in West Palm Beach, Fla.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Bozeman, Mont.; Bloomington, Ill., and Syracuse, N.Y. At the East Texas tea party in Lukin, organizers gave out the White House telephone number and urged attendees to call Obama and tell him: "We are not happy, and we are working to make Texas free from his legislation." Texas' former Solicitor General Ted Cruz, told the crowd that America is "facing the single greatest threat to our liberty that we've ever seen. I believe that President Obama was elected because we failed to lead. But I also believe that his greatest legacy as president will be that he inspired a new generation of conservatives to rise up and defend our liberty." Cruz is running for state attorney general. "I like to think of Texas as America on steroids," Cruz said. "It is a spirit that says 'give me a horse, a gun and an open plain and I can conquer the world.'" In Olympia, Wash., about 1,500 turned out for a rally on the Capitol campus. In Hawaii, tea party protesters draped American flags and placards along the Kaahumanu Highway in Kona. In Montgomery, Ala., some 500 protesters gathered at Overlook Park sporting signs that said: "No Obama heath care" and "What would Jefferson do?"
"It is a day when we celebrate the independence of our country and not that it is a democracy, it is a republic," said Pat O'Malley, organizer of the Clearwater, Fla., tea party. "And the powers that be are trying to turn it into a democracy." Obama was a source of irritation for tea party attendees in Fayetteville, Ark. Joan Phillips carried a sign that read: "Washington: Where's your common sense?" She was not talking about George Washington. She said Obama is trying to make the country socialist. "He is selling us down the drain," she said. "I decided to get up off my fanny and hold my sign here." Organizers around the country expressed their delight with turnouts. In Reno, Nev., organizer Debbie Landis put the crowd at 3,000. "I was in the middle of a conversation and I turned around and saw all these people it filled me with joy that this many people care," Landis said. "We're deeply concerned about this administration and previous administrations' frivolous spending. We're afraid what will happen if cap-and-trade [is passed]." About 300 turned out in Asheville, N.C., where signs read: "When taxes rise, freedom dies" and "Taxation without representation is no 4th of July picnic." "We felt we couldn't sit back anymore and not say anything," Jan Sherlock said. "We just do not want to go to socialism." Bill O'Connor, the organizer for the event, came dressed as Patrick Henry. "We're on our way to declaring independence from an oppressive government," O'Connor said. "The main thing is citizens are going to speak today who have deep concerns about things going on at all levels of the government." In Lansing, Mich., Joan Fabiano shouted into the microphone: "We are tired of the out-of-control spending, tired of the socialization of our government, tired of the erosion of our personal liberties." "It's not about the freedom anymore," said Justin Bovee at a rally in Twin Falls, Idaho. "It's about the power. They can get away with tax fraud while we go to prison."
"Don't Tread on Me" flags were in evidence at many of the tea party rallies, including one at Southfork Ranch, Texas. Some in the crowd there wore shirts supporting independence for the state of Texas. Signs from the WND "tea party store" including "Where's the birth certificate?" were in evidence at many rallies. In Grandville, Mich., Ida Pettibone carried a sign that read: "Give me liberty, don't give me ]debt "To stand for liberty is to stop the growth of government," said Pettibone, 65. "Our government is in so much debt, and we need to stop it." There were still more rallies in Plantes Ferry Park, Idaho; Starkville, Miss.; ]Lincoln Neb.; Nanuet, N.Y.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Temecula, Calif. In Tallahassee, Fla., attorney Pace Allen, organizer of the event, explained: "It is a rally against wasteful, excessive government spending. Excessive bailouts, handouts and entitlements are bankrupting our country." To the south in Pensacola, about 100 turned out to express fears about socialism and government spending. "I am tired of the direction the administration is taking the nation," said Greg ! ]Sutton ], 44. "Socialism does not work. It never has worked. It never will."
More than 2,000 turned out in Yuma, Ariz., where Dan Shooter said: "I think this is a message to Washington. We're coming. We're coming." At the Phoenix rally, Daniel Medina, 36, said: "We've been talking a lot about the Constitution today. We wanted to exercise our free speech. We're coming together as patriots, not as one political party or another. We're being taxed and taxed and taxed." "Our children and grandchildren are going to be taxed out of their gourds," said Frank Giordano at the Augusta, Maine, rally. "It's young people that elected Obama. But they don't realize how much they're going to have to pay (in taxes) because of him." Thomas Tabback, an author and inspirational speaker, told an audience in Quincy, Ill., to remember what the nation's independence is all about. "This is one of the most important Independence Days in a long time," he said. "There's a huge power grab going on and still, many average Americans out there don't realize how many of our freedoms are at stake." In Tyler, Texas, Kevin Hard said, "I think what we're really finding here is that all of the people here are united in a cause, and we all understand that we're all on the same page. The number one issue of the day is the out-of-control government spending. If we could harness that in, there (are) a whole lot of other issues that could work themselves out. We're very concerned, especially for our children and grandchildren, the generations to come. We want to leave this a great place just like we had it when we were kids." Nearly 2,000 turned out in Tyler. Elected officials were few and far between at the tea parties, but Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., addressed a crowd of 300 in Omaha, explaining that Democrats "love to tax. They love to spend." "Taxation is the taking of our freedom," Terry said. "Today, we celebrate the freedoms that are inherent to being an American." The tea party concept is both a remembrance of the original Boston Tea Party and an acronym that stands for "Taxed enough already." In Wichita Falls, Texas, they brough both ideas together by reading the Declaration of Independence aloud. "Many people have never read it before, or they read the first two paragraphs then stop," one organizer explained.
In Stafford County, Va., Dylan Stefl held a sign almost as big as he is. It read "7 and already in debt." "We're banking on his future today," said Pat Stefl, Dylan's father. "And we've had enough of too many taxes." Some 700 turned out in Altoona, Wis. Organizer Micah Stofferahn said, "It cost us about $1,000 to put on this event. ... If the government would have put it on, it would be $65,000 at least." Rallies also took place in Memphis, Tenn.; Beaufort, S.C.; Greensboro, Ga., and Odessa, Texas. About 1,500 turned out in Columbia, S.C., where Republican Sen. Jim DeMint addressed the crowd. In Salina, Kan., several hundred gathered to sing patriotic songs, read the Declaration of Independence and sound off against taxes and national health care. In Joplin, Mo., hundreds listened to state Rep. Jim Guest say, "I believe we have a government that is out of control and ignoring the wishes of the people." Guest has sponsored a resolution that reclaims Missouri's sovereignty under the U.S. Constitution's 10th Amendment and would have told the federal government to "cease and desist" all mandates "beyond the scope of ... constitutionally delegated powers." The resolution passed in the House but stalled in a Senate committee. "Our 10th Amendment protection is slowly slipping away," Guest told the crowd Saturday, saying he would raise the resolution again next year and that it would likely enjoy more Senate support the second time around. Hundreds turned out in Del Rio, Texas, and more than 500 in Norwich, Conn. But several thousand gathered in Ventura County, Calif., where signs read: "We Are In Hot Water," "One Nation Under God" and "You Can't Fix Stupid, But You Can Vote Them Out." Among the speakers was Ted Baehr, founder of Movieguide, a magazine that analyzes movies from a biblical perspective. Baehr said because of the burden of the growing national debt and higher taxes, the United States was "on the road to serfdom" with a tax burden that would have people working six months a year to cover taxes. He also said the true national debt was heading toward $56 trillion, most current estimates peg the total at about $11.5 trillion. Baehr also touched on the new "cap and trade" proposals that would create a system of controlling pollution by setting a cap on total emissions, but also allowing for companies to trade emission credits so that cleaner companies can sell their credits. It would also tax polluters, which could mean the cost would be passed onto consumers. "It means there will be a carbon tax, so are we going to be taxed for our breathing?" he asked.
