This forum will no longer be tolerant of personal attacks. EOG Management feels that posters should be able to freely share their views without being personally attacked or ridiculed by others.

Political views often become enthusiastic and emotional, that is understandable. What will no longer be tolerated is the outright disrespect shown to posters with opposing views.

Alright guys here is the deal

The name calling, the harassment and the outright disrespect is going to stop.

I will make the above clearer for you.

1. As contributors of this forum, you will be expected to stay ON TOPIC in the thread. If there is a desire to cover another topic, start another thread. DO NOT HIJACK THREADS

2. Use of excessive profanity is prohibited. While it is understood that in a heated argument we sometimes are not as cautious with what we post, excessive profanity used as personal attacks will not be tolerated.

3. ATTACK THE MESSAGE NOT THE MESSENGER! From the moment this is posted, personal attacks will no longer be tolerated. I see a few of you have been using the asylum for this and that is fine. If you need to call each other names and generally act like two year olds then DO SO IN THE ASYLUM. NOT HERE.

4. No flame bait threads. These threads are the ones where the sole intent of the thread is to incite personal attacks, emotionally charged responses, and/or hate speech.

5. No harassing other posters. This includes creating threads in this forum with the posters name or ANY VARIATION of their name in the title, harassing them via private message, or following them from thread to thread trying to incite an argument.

6. No violent threats against posters. This will include no violent threats towards public officials including the President and Vice-President as this is a violation of federal law.

7. ALL articles must have a SOURCE. This can be one or more of several things. Either the url the article was obtained from, the EXACT TITLE AND AUTHOR (if from a news website), or all of the above. (If you have obtained the information from someone other than yourself you MUST reference this as if you do not it is plagiarisms. )

We do reserve the right to modify, edit, or add to these rules as needed.

* Violators of the rules above will be dealt with as needed.

The mods are right there when someone on the left side of the aisle crosses a line. They seem to have their backs turned when the posters on the right hurl personal insults and racist comments, however.

I am capable of making my own decisions on this, and I can GUARANTEE you 99% of the time it will be NOT what I am TOLD to do by some egotistical jerk that learned manners from his boss. The unfortunate part about that is his boss does not have any either!
