Takes 15 minutes tops to install kodi and the tvaddons which auto installs all the popular addons.

That's why they sell them for $60 on eBay.

Anybody running a build these days? If so what's the best one now? I have run the Beast, SilentROM and others in the past.

    Thanks

After installing 17.1 I also downloaded The Royalist for Krypton so that's a 3rd change. Very happy so far and all my new sticks and boxes will have this setup on it. Problem is, when you put a new build on from the Beast family [That is where the Royalist comes from] it pretty much wipes your box clean and it's like a brand new install. Which I put a lot of time into each and every box I sell. With this new Royalist install, the settings look just like the old 16.1 settings and not the 17.1 look I was so hesitant about and uncomfortable changing to. Today looks like a good day.
For those that haven't yet-take 15 mins and install KODI 17.1--all of your addons and favorites carry over automatically. Runs smoother and has more streaming options

I had a difficult time installing 17.1 on my boxes and sticks after the April 1st prank. You need a mouse or an app that gives you mouse capabilities now. At least the normal way. TV addons with show you how to do it without but your stuck with all their advertisement residue when you're finished. I've finally figured out how to make a backup of Kodi and it's now simple as pie to install my builds onto new or old sticks and boxes. In fact, if you've purchased from me in the past and would like me to do all the work and install not only 17.1 but the new Royalist and don't mind sending me your boxes or sticks I'll do it for nothing. You just cover my shipping cost back to you. Not only will you have all the latest apps but I go into the settings and adjust most all of them so they are running well including the latest Exodus app so the search time has been cut down from 30 to 18 seconds, the bad movie links have been removed and I set it now to auto play so that once it finds your streams it plays the best feed for you. Cuts your click time in half from finding a movie to it actually playing on your screen. I do that with 5-6 other movie apps as well. And adjust your YouTube settings so whenever you play a YouTube video in any app, they play instead of getting the error message a lot of people experience. Other app settings are adjusted as well.

The problem I was experiencing was you could install 17.1 simple enough, and all your addons stayed, but the minute you installed [The Royalist in my instance] it wiped your addons clean and they all needed to be reinstalled individually. Took me 2 hours per stick. That 2 hours is now 20 minutes from the time I plug it into the time I log out. Had a friend help me and I owe him dearly.

You may get along with 16.1 on your sticks for a while but eventually, you will need to upgrade as like in any other new version of Kodi, all the apps are designed to run best on the new build. Pretty soon very few apps actually work.

PM me if you're interested in my help on this.

    Stop using Kodi period.

Download the Appstarter App, thats a real Amazon App. Then load SPMC. It is so much smoother and faster than Kodi it isnt even funny. Also no issues with add ons as its updated whenever major issues happen.

As for builds, if you still use them Wookie is decent, they dont update it a lot (last ones were 1-5 and 2-17, but the add ons all update better than other builds. Fire TV Guru isnt bad either and it gets updated a little more than Wookie. Has a different lay out guys would have to get used to.

I upgraded my Kodi to 17.1 and I changed my build to Spinz TV Hard Nox and it's been working great over the past 2-3 weeks since I did it. Took me about 15-20 minutes to install 17.1 and Hard Nox. Exodus, Streamhub, and Smoothstreams.tv are running great, much better than with 16.1.

    Bushay-What's the Royalist?
Royalist is a build from the guys who distribute the Beast. It's a very simple build, but slim and fast for the firesticks. Comes with about 10 addons and then I add my own I feel my customers will enjoy most. A small variety of everything. Then I back it up or clone it myself. In other words, and I've never looked at it like this before, but it's my own build after I'm thru with it. It lacks very little. Cleaning tools, movie apps, cooking, sports, cams, all the popular apps that are of interest to most. 3 shortcuts on the main page to movies, tv shows, and the Smoothstreams app. Then another for the rest of your addons and then your settings. Very very simple and fast.

You missed SALTS and Madstreams. Madstreams has about a thousand IPTV lists so you will find everything on them. Only issue is youre going to have ot dig around and know what network you need. But once you find a few add them to Super favorites. A lot of the streams are full 1080 also and no buffering because there are so many lists that the likelihood of too many people using a random one you click through are pretty slim.

Prosport no good now they only have 2 feeds for off network games and neither of them work. Its OK if its a TNT or a CBS or a network game but there arent nay local streams anymore on it.

Because you guys never used it right. Salts has 1080 feeds for 85% of the current TV shows now. Exodus has maybe 2 or 3 shows I watch with 1080. Sometimes you have to deal with Turkish subtitles on those better feeds but unless the show has the need for English subtitles it isnt an issue. SALTS also better organized. The My calender > then Episodes that Exodus has. If you dont have Trakt linked to anything then I dont know. Then youre fumbling around in random sections looking for shows you want no matter what app you use.

I dont watch hockey so that might be true but I havent found a single baseball feed on there for anything that isnt on a major feed somewhere.

Only thing I watch these days live is cycling anyway, and even then its only half the time as Eurosport shows replays a half dozen times.

At this point its all rudimentary. It should be second nature for people using these things now. There really arent going to be any bigger or better add ons coming out. Theyre all going to be using the same basic feeds, and that is all that matters. Unless some set up their own servers, which isnt likely unless they plan on charging then the scrapers are going to be what matter most. For TV and Movies anyway. And for movies that are still in theaters no matter what source you use theyre all pulling from the same crappy Cam footage someone took and is being disseminated through a dozen add ons and a few thousand links.

My friend just got one of these from Amazon and he has buyers remorse. These are for people who have the time to constantly update and search. If you want to use it like DIRECTV and get 1080 pic quality, it's not for you.
