Angels vs Astros Saturday in Houston -*On Saturday night, Jered Weaver will attempt to win his third game in a row when he and the Los Angeles Angels take on Collin McHugh and the Houston Astros. McHugh has been on a roll lately, throwing a quality start in five out of his last six starts.

Jered Weaver had another solid start last weekend when he beat the Chicago White Sox at home. He gave up just one run in seven innings of work that day while walking one batter and striking out one. The veteran right-hander is now 8-7 on the season with a 5.02 ERA and he has given up a total of 124 base hits in 107.2 innings on the mound.

Weaver has struggled against the Astros this season. In two starts against them, he is 0-2 with a high 7.94 ERA and he has given up 13 hits in 11.1 innings. Outfielder Colby Rasmus has just one hit off of Weaver in 17 career at-bats with three walks and six strikeouts. Catcher Jason Castro is 6-for-23 against him with a double, three home runs and six RBI.

Last Sunday, Collin McHugh was able to pick up his sixth win of the year when he beat the Seattle Mariners on the road. He threw six scoreless innings in that win and he threw 65 of his 99 pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old currently owns a 6-6 record with a 4.25 ERA through 19 starts and opponents have been able to hit .287 against him.

In his last start against the Angels, McHugh went six innings and ended up with a no decision. He gave up two runs on six hits in that game and struck out three. Veteran first baseman Albert Pujols has seven hits in 19 career at-bats against the right-hander with a home run and four RBI. Kole Calhoun is 8-for-26 against him with a double and five strikeouts.

The Astros have been very good at home this year and McHugh should be able to help them get the win in this one.
