Linares vs Crolla - The UK's*Manchester Arena host a big-time boxing card this Saturday, September 24th that sees the WBA world lightweight title in play between Anthony Crolla (31-4-3) and Jorge Linares (40-3).

Crolla won the WBA title back in November*of 2015 when he defeated Darleys Perez by 5th round stoppage. In July, he and Perez had dueled to a draw so Crolla has been focused on the WBA title for about a year. He defended the belt successfully this past May, taking out previously undefeated Ismael Barroso (19-0-2) by stoppage in the seventh round. Crolla's entire record consists of fighting in the United Kingdom, and Linares will represent his toughest test to date.

Linares is a WBC world titleholder at lightweight, and the 31 year old Venezuelan has held world titles at featherweight and super featherweight as well. He is currently on a nine fight winning streak dating back to March of 2012 and that streak alone has seen him win fights in Tokyo, the USA, England and Mexico. Linares has been inactive since October of 2015 and he ha undergone surgeries to repair hand damage, but he claims to be 100% heading into this fight. Linares has been preparing for the fight in and around Las Vegas and he is reported to be taking the training and preparation very seriously. Linares successfully defended his WBC world title in England in May of 2015 when he defeated 39-2 Kevin Mitchell by 10th round stoppage, and he will be hoping for a similar performance this time out.
