Saturday Boxing Odds Jan 28 - The boxing calendar for the weekend of January 28th has several high level boxing matches coming up at the sports books.

In Oslo, Norway "The First Lady" Cecilia Braekhus (29-0) defends her five world titles at welterweight against the challenge of Klara Svensson (17-1). Svensson is from neighboring Sweden and the match in Norway follows Braekhus' October title defense in her home country, marking the first two professional boxing events in the Scandinavian country in 30 years. Braekhus is currently considered the number one pound for pound female boxer in the world today and Svensson will enter the fight a major underdog.

Golden Boy Promotions are on HBO this weekend with a card from Indio, California that features WBC world super featherweight champion Francisco Vargas (23-0-2) enter a tough title defense as he faces Miguel Berchelt (30-1) of Mexico. Vargas won the WBC trinket in November of 2015 when he stopped Takashi Miura, and last June he fought Orlando Salido to a draw in his first title defense. The GBP card in Indio also counts on Miura in a featured fight as well as middleweight Tureano Johnson (19-1) *and welterweight Sadam Ali (23-1) in return bouts so check back later in the week to see if more odds pop up.

Also at the sports books, 115 pounders McJoe Arroyo (17-1) and Teiru Kinoshita (25-1-1) meet in an IBF world title elimination bout. The current holder of the IBF world title is Jerwin Ancajas, who won the belt last September when he defeated Arroyo. Kinoshita has won six fights in a row since his July of 2014 failed bid for the IBF belt.
