    Default Alan Boston rolling...

His best bets were Rhode Island and Bucknell, early.

Catch him on the Chris Vernon Podcasts, and Two Plus Two Podcasts.

Alan was good...the idiots interviewing him were poker nit wits. Worth a listen. The Chris Vernon Podcasts were great.

Two Plus Two is the most over rated gambling forum going...they think poker is like chess...it is not. Its a very simple game, if you have winning experience, and understand basic odds, human stupidity, and understanding the concept of playing against people that don't play well. There you go. That sums up good poker in a few sentences, without selling you poker books.

AB was a great read during selection Sunday. Nobody has a melt down like he does

Basic poker-question. One that has made a fool of me:

    * River-card pairs the board and also makes your Nut-flush.

I bet and get re-raised to the moon. Is that ALWAYS a boat? Are there times where someone goes wackadoodle and is bluffing me? He knows I'll have a tough time laying down the (big) flush.

You are beat in that spot, easily. The exception might be a big nut that has lots of money or is drunk, then you have a decision. But, 95 % of the time, you are beat, so you can't call there.

Remember Alan saying he suspected it was a gang initiation or something...but when he ran bad, he owed big time. But, he has friends in high places in the gambling world and Alan is a stand up man, so I suspect they helped him out.

He is easily the most interesting gambling figure IMO that has been written about in the last 25 years.

Old school Boston had Beilein over Pitino. So he's adjusting because folks say he's behind the times. Louisville -2.

I'm impressed that Alan still thinks he can fade a 2.5 point move against Arlington.

I met Alan a few times in Las Vegas, always likable. I believe he is a good man. Hope the Gambling Gods send some extra breaks his way.

so Im invited to a get together house party by a sharp gambler in Las Vegas for sports betting nerds, no the fez tard was not there, and Alan shows up driving a fancy car with a really nice store bought cake. Told the host that his mother taught him never to show up to a party empty handed.

And i thought damn why the hell didn't i think of that? Where the hell are my manners? So I left the cooler some casino had given me with the good beer I'd brought it was BYOB and I'd brought more than my share.

And all I can think about really since is, I wish I had that beer cooler back. It was REALLY nice.

actually the incident occurred around ~ 6;30-7 p.m. as i recall. he was supposed to appear as a contestant on some sports radio show and was attacked as he was nearing the vicinity of the Riv entrance across from the Stardust.

A lot of pro gamblers that always hover close to being broke seem to unconsciously enjoy the “game” of being broke itself with all the challenges & stresses of rebuilding a bankroll on top of the actual bets themselves.

I'm not saying he's completely broke but as far as sports gambling goes, I think he is. The way he carries himself especially on twitter reminds me a lot of how I was when I was drinking and busting.

I'd be interested to see his bet histories from the past 5 years.
