    Default 2017 College Football Season Win Totals

    Early partial CFB totals from CG Technology, per an @DavidPurdum tweet:

    http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id...-cg-technology

    Give me a couple of minutes and I'll copy and paste the totals into this thread.

    Vols over 7.5

    Georgia Tech = Win
    Indiana State = Win
    At Florida = Loss
    UMASS = Win
    Georgia = Loss
    South Carolina = Win
    At Alabama = Loss
    At Kentucky = Win
    Southern Miss = Win
    At Missouri = Win
    LSU = Loss
    Vandy = Win

    This seems like an easy one. They can beat Georgia or Florida too.

    Somebody's got to have some good info on these non power 5 teams.

    Boise is on it's way down. Petersen was the sole reason that team was relevant and that was true even when Hawkins was there.

    The win totals are out now. If I see them in a copy-and-pastable format, I'll follow up with that.

    Meanwhile, @DavidPurdum (a great follow) has tweeted them out in a Twitter pic format, about 20 minutes back.

    I don't see WMU winning 10 games to lose this bet. They play @USC, @ Mich St, @NIU, @Toledo. Tough when you are replacing the HC, QB, and top 3 receivers.
    Michael Jordan isn't anywhere near as athletic as lebron James. Jordan wouldn't even be a top 20 athlete in the game right now in his prime. - Cleveland Homer Big Deemer

    I can't see the number from where I'm at currently. It's juiced quite a bit toward UNDER, correct?

    Here are the things that give me pause:

    A.) MSU as a program is in complete disarray, So many dismissals and defections... zero depth at pretty much every position except RB, (where they are loaded) but IMO Western is relatively well-equipped for a MAC school to stop the run. I don't make MSU any higher than -4 in that game right now.

    WMU's returners have shown that they can go into Big Ten country and win. They won't be intimidated.

    B.) As far as the QB situation goes, both Flacco and Wassink, while lacking in game action, have been around the program for at least a couple seasons. The learning curve may not be as steep as we think.

    C.) I'm looking for a slip-up somewhere in the other 8 regular season games and I'm not seeing an obvious one. EMU on the road maybe???

    On the flip side, Bogan has been seen lately wearing a walking boot... not good.

    Remember that a bowl games (an almost certainty) and the Conference championship game (a possibility) count.

    I would need plus money to bet UNDER, +130 or better to bet OVER. Lots of uncertainty.

    I didn't address the coaching situation: I'm not sold on Lester, but IMO getting Kevin Johns from Indiana as OC is the best steal of the year in all of the G5. Fabulous hire.

    I had seen it at 9 early, I'm sure juiced to Under now.

    WM , as most MAC teams can beat the B10 schools with weaker line play. That is usually Mich St's strength. It will be a great game Under to play,

    @USC +24 Loss
    @MSU +11 loss
    Idaho -16 win
    Wagner NL win
    Ball st -11 win
    @ Buffalo -17.5 win
    Akron-17 win
    @EMU -3.5 1/2
    CMU -17.5 win
    Kent st. -20 win
    @NIU -4.5 1/2
    @Toledo pk
    There Rsw should be 8.5 imo
    Run d takes a hit but pass d is top echelon. New Qb and Wr options big drop there but still a top 25 run o if Bogan can get healthy. Special teams might cost them a bit with uncertainty at PR and P. I think they are still the best team in the MAC. Mac has major up and comers though in Ball st, EMU and Miami oh might be a very live dog to win it and Ohio has alot of important pieces back. Toledo best on paper but Candle falls into shootout mode too often when pressed at least he did in year 1 if he can figure out how to manage both sides of the ball better by late November Toledo could be as high as -7.
    I am unable and unwilling to bet rsw's anywhere but cris or pph's on larger markets currently but I agree 10 un seems very logical. I don't think Mich st is a great team but they are a extremely big team in the trenches for WMU to deal with and at home the spartans will be very tough. You'd then need to lose every toss up (3) game and also not lose a single game as a favorite seems like a pretty easy bet but the easy looking rsw's can be fools gold.
    Hope that helps. Good thread.
    Just read about the radio show JK. That is a complete travesty. If you text me weekly I will try to relay a play for your personal podcast to pass along.

    Baylor 8 under is solid and if you are just recreationally betting I don't know of anywhere offshore that will take a serious bet on it yet but I think Utep at 2.5 is very low amd s. miss at 7.5 is far too high. Havent really sat down and figured out every team's power number but I know that S. miss is starting the season with more question marks than answers currently. C-Usa is very up and coming much like the AAC 2 years ago.

    Depends how they look vs USC. If they lose 45-7, then they may.

    Tom Flacco will transfer. That leaves WMU with 3 Fr and a rs sophomore to compete. He was listed #1 but decided to take his talents with 2 years remaining to a power 5 school that he will choose this fall. Good ole Phil Steele calls for slight regression in the passing game lol.
    I think +11 @msu week 3 is about right birdie.
