My best friend breaks down fighters better than anyone I know. Taekwondo instructor from way back.

When we first talked about this matchup, he was assuming that it would be fought under MMA rules, and he was laying out why Mayweather would win fighting under those rules.

When I told him that it was going to be a pure boxing match, he just started laughing.

This is the latest from VSiN on the betting action:

If it such a mismatch why not lay -190 on mayweather by stoppage

Because Mayweather will win by DQ....better chance of that happening....

That won't happen VD. Conner forfeits his whole purse if he goes mma on Mayweather.

Ive already tried explaining that in post #49.

Some people don't like to look at things practically I guess.

Only way McGregor wins is if it's a setup for a trilogy.

I jumped on -650 early because I thought their was a ton of value at that price. The fact it's getting pushed lower is actually a little worrisome.

anyone who has seen McGregor fight and thinks he has a chance against a legend needs therapy. That said, both must have dropped to their knees and thanked whoever they worship for people being so fickle and to give them such wealth for a carnival event. Of course where there's money there's connivery and a hard luck story for either brings a potential second lottery prize. They are both horrible people so lets hope the theory of boxing brain damage raises its ugly head.

Don't let it bother you Ruca. This is not a normal market. This fight will have 1000X the square money than a typical market has. It will be my biggest position ever.

It turns out the bettors who asked to remain anonymous after making a $880,000 wager at the South Point sports book on Floyd Mayweather Jr. to beat Conor McGregor are anything but anonymous in Las Vegas.
The Maloof brothers — Joe, Gavin and Phil — made what is believed to be the biggest bet on the fight thus far, Gavin Maloof confirmed to the Review-Journal on Sunday.
The Maloofs, who own a minority stake in the Golden Knights and are former owners of the Sacramento Kings and the Palms, were first identified as the bettors by LVSportsbiz.com.
“I live down the street from Floyd (in Southern Highlands) and I’ve known him for a lot of years. He’s a good friend of mine,” Gavin Maloof told the Review-Journal. “Conor McGregor’s great and all the respect in the world to Dana White and the UFC. But it’s very difficult to transplant an MMA fighter to boxing.
“McGregor’s much younger and he hits hard but he’s going against the best boxer ever. I just don’t see it. Floyd’s the best counter puncher to ever live. You can’t hit Floyd. He’s too quick.”
The Maloofs will win $160,000 on their bet, placed at minus-550, if Mayweather prevails in the Aug. 26 boxing match at T-Mobile Arena.

I am going to bet 8-12k if I can get -400, on Floyd...maybe a little more...too much value at that price.

Plz comment on the Draw probability here. Not saying it happens. Just be aware:

    * Guys not used to betting boxing won't know difference btw 2-way line + 3-way line.

Wouldn't think it comes into play here, but who knows?

SIA screws you on the draw. All side bets are losers, like most Euro Books. I'd think a draw here would be even more remote than Floyd losing. How is McGregor gonna get to 114 points?
