Michael Jordan isn't anywhere near as athletic as lebron James. Jordan wouldn't even be a top 20 athlete in the game right now in his prime. - Cleveland Homer Big Deemer

This is the wrong type of argument to have with me lol
Getting hit by the backswing isn't about stopping his ability to block the ball. The batter would have had to be swinging unbelievably early to hit the catcher before the ball got there. It is about preventing the catcher from going after a blocked ball or one that got away. Getting hit prevents the catcher from retrieving the ball and making a play which is exactly what happened. You can see weiters gets stunned initially for a split second. That was a text book dead ball and strike three to end the inning. Arguing otherwise is just a biased Cubs fans opinion.

Cubs plane was diverted because a nonplayer had a health issue.
Plane landed in Albuquerque and theyve been there for 5 hours

not sure if they are staying in NM and flying to LA tomorrow morning or if they are going to head over today.

Can't imagine that'd be fun drinking all night and not getting to a hotel right away. But according to the radio, they're still at the airport.

What most people are ignoring is that Wieters bent his head over at a crazy angle towards Baez's swing to try and block the ball.

Clearly a catcher isn't allowed to lean forward to get hit and cause interference, but that is kind of what happened, unintentionally. Since it's about umpire's discretion in a situation like that, it was good it wasn't called.
