1986 NCAA tourney had Ark Little Rock +11.5. Chris Washburn led NCST outscored them 14-0 in 2nd OT.

Not the worst, but Nevada +5.5 tonight was pretty bad. Literally the only time they weren't covering that 5.5 was the final score. They led the entire game and lost by 6 in OT.

I faintly remember catching double-digits with San Diego State over BYU in a late-night college hoop game and losing the bet.

Game ended after 11:00 p.m. PT and I did not wake up until noon the following day.

The last game of the NHL season. The Kings had lost 10 straight and this was the last game of the season. San Jose had clinched their playoff spot so this game was meaningless for them.

I had the Kings +0.5 goals +140 in this game back when NHL games could end in a tie.

Kings led 3-1 in the dying seconds of 3P until Luc Robitaille took a penalty with 78 seconds left. I was watching at home and SJ scored a 6-on-4 PPG with 19.7 seconds left to make it 4-3. The Sharks kept the goalie out and set a team record for the fastest 2 goals in history scoring with 3 seconds left to tie the game and send it to OT.

But even then if the game ended in a TIE I STILL would win my bet. But I knew what was coming and just over 3 minutes into OT Vincent Damphousse scored to win the game for SJ 4-3. I was watching at my parent’s house and after the game I just sat there stone faced in stunned disbelief.

I HAD THE GAME WON WITH 25 SECONDS LEFT! And all I ended up with was a piece of paper for a fire. To this day it is by far the most brutal beat I have ever had. Not even close.

Had Ohio ST - Mia under in championship game 2003, took 2 OT's to push it over. One of those games that if they didn't have the stupid college OT rules the game would have never went over.

Robin Ventura "Grand Slam" was also awful.

If memory serves, the Ventura "Grand Slam Single" justly kept the game under the total.

The game was a dead under from the get-go and though over bettors thought they had a winner when the ball left the yard, justice prevailed so the right result would cash.

Football--I hate OTs, and 2 point conversion rule. Bad for the gambler. I remember when football games ended In a tie. Fine with me. Fuck the casual fan who does not bet.

Nelson Cruz walk off grand slam in the ALCS with nobody out still bothers me. I had $6000 on the under. Swinging for the fences when all he needed was moderate depth fly ball.

Jan, 1979, Michigan State (with Magic) was -10' at home vs Iowa. I had Iowa +10'.
Game went into o.t. and final was MSU 83-72.
I remember calling 212-999-1313 every 5 minutes for updates like it was yesterday.

If they had instant replay then the game never would have went to OT. OSU made a sliding catch inbounds on third down for a first down that would have allowed them to run out the clock. Yet all you ever hear is the crying about the holding penalty against Miami in the end zone in OT.

I'd love to know the percentage of home runs hit when there's a runner on third and less than two outs.

I wish OT didn't count on spread & totals, who caps a game for OT, especially totals?

The Mets slam that was and should have been but wasn't because they didn't run the bases was harsh.

I have a worse bad beat that than, CL soccer, meaningless game in the last round of the group stages, I had PSG over Depor at +700. PSG was up 3-0 on the hour mark, it ended 4-3 Depor with subs scoring all the Depor goals.

July 28 2002. Have the Tigers +150ish vs Detroit was up 6-2 heading into the 8th. Indians get 2 in the 8th and 5 in the ninth on a Jim Thome walk off grand slam. I bet way over my ass on this game and lost enough for it to really sting. Last time I every bet like that.

You know what else I hate, that FUCKIN lateral play at end of games now...there was KC winning and just a few weeks ago the total went OVER on Mia-TB on that play.

The NFL (college too NW-OSU) has to make a rule that you are only allowed one lateral on a KO in the last 30 seconds of the game.

I agree completely. How about a new rule putting a limit on number of laterals?

It's hard to remember all the bad beats, but in the past year it had to be the Redskins as a dog and the under at KC this year, and the damned lateral fumble six ruined both bets.

I remember this game like it was yesterday. Was also on the wrong side of it. Still remember Bill Cowher's reaction as the Jags player was running past him on the sideline.
The less you bet, the more you lose when you win.

Tulane/ull i had under 51 close 44.5. Even 44.5 was a terrible number to try to consider middling.. i thought.
Tied 13-13 going into OT neither team had 300 total yards played 4 OTs Tulane kicker made a career long 51 yarder Ull kicker missed a attempt but ULL called a timeout in 1st OT he of course nails 2nd one. Both make fgs in 2nd OT 3rd Ot starts 19-19 2tds right away. 2 yrs ago still hurts.
Kent/marshall 2016 was a awful one as well.

Greatest comeback of all time was Western Kentucky -3' They lead 49-14 entering the fourth quarter. Watch the punt that stopped the clock with 1 sec on the clock giving CM one last play from their 25 yd line.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXHoGK0Tn6s

Another bad beat that comes to mind was Bills at Pats when Bills walked off the field and Pats run the xp for 2 to cover by the hook after scoring the winning TD with no play on the clock on the extra play following a penalty in the end zone and a couple of 4th down conversions on that drive.

Ventura didn't even have to make it all the way to home plate. If he just manages to touch second base, the game goes over.

Remember it well. We were loaded on Jacksonville. My idiot friend as Pitt was lining up for the FG said "the only way we can lose is if they block it and run it back." I didn't talk to him for 2 weeks.

So funny you say this-almost the exact thing happened to me. My buddy and I were sharing an account and we had taken a string of unreal bad beats that weekend. My buddy called me up before the kick and made the same joke to me that your friend did. Before I hung up on him I told him now that he made that statement it would probably happen. My girlfriend couldn't understand why I was so pissed for hours. I had to explain how Brad had mushed our bet. I of course also hid the fact I had just lost our rent payment for the month.
