I'm friendly with Lester Quarles who was a Roller Derby star in the 70's and 80's.

Lester is living in Las Vegas and loves to visit various sports books around town.

Best way to sellout an arena in the early 1970's: Have a black man clobber a blonde-haired white woman over the head with a briefcase.

Quarles served as a manager once his skating days were over.

That would still work today but for a different reason, people will pay top dollar to see a black man carrying a brief case.

I once took a date to Roller Derby at Carmichael Auditorium in Chapel Hill. The date thought she was going roller skating. I said, "oh no, I don't do that."

    Funny stuff.

I once took a girl to watch the horse races at Del Mar on a Friday, visited Tijuana to watch the dog races on a Saturday and when Sunday rolled around, she asked, "What's next, cat racing?"

T-Birds were frigging stacked. 8 hall of famers that year. We were so blessed in the 70's to have announcers like Enberg,Scully,Miller,Hearn and WhoaNellie Dick Lane!!

The Lakers were the 80’s. Even if Magic turned Railbird down for a date.
