"Pro only" currently applies to only to Delaware.

Once these politicians get their meathooks into the increasing revenue they may allow amateur sports

Alright, alright, not big fans of Purdum's article exploring the possibility of homer shaded lines, here's one on Congress sticking its nose into the thicket, next week . . .

I agree with Roxy in the end that NJ books if they want to take a lead will open 8am eastern time. Maybe not this NFL year but the ones down the road.
The casinos in NJ will see a nice opportunity to open early before Vegas & make more money with the 3 hour jump in time. Once all the casinos open in NJ and are online with an easy deposit & withdrawal method people will discover they do not have to wait 11 days for their money off a Monday night NFL game anymore to get paid with credit. PPH are in trouble in NJ. Expect them to offer -105 more often to keep players . Once sports betting spreads more it could hurt offshore as well. People want 100% security & less hoops . Offshore will probably counter attack to keep deposits coming in.

    Spot on
Could see myself keeping 5d for some props and baseball overnights but wont be much reason to keep much in there as a rec guy, once the app/online is live

CCC of NJ reports no initial sign up in person required for online wagers which starts soon. Deposit online and play.

Stopped in yesterday afternoon, was quiet, a total of 20 people in the book, no lines, 6 tellers open maybe 7, was in and out. Boards are good. Parking not an issue

Teller wasn't the quickest. Made 3 bets, just had to wait about 15-20 seconds for approval from the system, not a person teller told me before he handed me the tix, which he did. Went 2-1 (Lost under 7 Red sox)

No complaints so far with anything I saw an did yesterday, nice job NJ!!

    "But wait, there's . . . not . . . more."

Hearing postponed, for the moment at least.

Inertia is your friend in a legislature, especially when you already have your favorable Supreme Court decision in hand.

Don't need Congress now. Don't need the leagues' consent to anything. Definitely don't need integrity fees.

There could be browser plugs fixed with geo-location to enable player to bet on home computers in NJ as well as mobile phones & tablets.

    Thanks, Bob.

Not really enthralled with RI sports betting being run by/for the state lottery.

Only one out. At only two physical locations. And no mobile platform. With the State taking a large chunk of the hold (well I hope it's just the hold).

Sounds like a recipe for great success. [sarcasm alert]

What a surprise that no one else bid to be the sports betting vendor. [even more sarcasm alert]

Was almost a given that a legislature or two would eff the thing all up, the longstanding successful Nevada regulatory model being there as an example notwithstanding.

And does IGT have any experience managing risk as a sports book? As opposed to running a lottery and/or computer-linked megajackpot slot machines?

    -- -- --

Well, according to this article, the answer is yes, at least to an extent:

Although if I'm reading this article correctly on the fly, they did the mobile app for MGM, which is not the same as running a book.

    https://www.legalsportsreport.com/13...sports-nevada/

IGT always has seemed to be in gaming tech, not sports book risk management, but maybe they're broader than that impression.

Sounds like Ocean Resort will be the nicest one. Looking forward to seeing pics/video next week when it opens.

Hard Rock casino in A.C. opens on June 28th , could very well open without a sports book for a while . I would think hard Rock casino would get the issues cleared up with the NFL & the Miami dolphins before football starts in September.
