Default And Then There Were 14 . . . Las Vegas Gets a New Out

Per Gaming Today, the D (and affiliated Golden Gate) downtown will be going with an independent book within a few months, ending their prior relationship with William Hill:

    (scroll down in the article)

This is a list from a couple of years back of the 13 Las Vegas outs, with the ones with then-known mobile apps in bold:

    Caesars
CG Technology (the out formerly known as Cantor Gaming)
    Golden Nugget
    Jerry’s Nugget
    MGM
    South Point
    Stations
    Stratosphere/Arizona Charlie’s
    Treasure Island
    Westgate SuperBook
    William Hill

    Say it's so, Joe, lol . . . thanks.

I really need to get out more, but in this case, it looks like I now can stay in more.

Yeah, I haven't kept track of changes in their apps, but I do show CGT as being mobile.

I know Nevada is strictly apps. Can't really understand that unless it's for ease of state only enforcement, but I know New Jersey Casinos are online, and they don't seem to have a problem enforcing the state only thing, and hopefully they'll do the same for sports betting. Will all the states follow the apps only model, or will some states opt for apps + websites?

So the new indie book will be in Derek Stevens new place where the old Las Vegas Club stood. I like Stevens. He reminds me of a young Steve Wynn when he owned the Nugget. The question is who will go downtown to gain a half point?

I have and will, lol. Betting at the old Las Vegas Club site would bring back good memories to boot.

Hopefully, though, they'll also have a mobile app, which appears to be a fairly matured technology now.

With pokerjoe's update above, we're down to only two of the current 13 outs that don't have one.

I would assume it will also be in the D.

No. It's tentatively named '18 Fremont'

With this addition, there will now be a total of five OUTS downtown...………..GN, WH, STN, D, and BOYD

Although Boyd APP at times only takes 300 a pop, in person they take decent size wagers and quite often have good betting options.

Two-three years ago was downtown nearly everyday ………but things changed on a variety of fronts, booted at -GN-, and being limited severely at -WH- and -STN-

As far as PlayNJ.com it seems like it is moving slow when it comes to any type of NJ mobile / website info. Right now I would say mobile. To answer your question there is a plug-in which enables the casino to tell where you are using any browser. Will they use the websites nothing confirmed yet for sports. Stay tuned.
If a person lives in north NJ it would take about 2-3 hours to get to AC. If they limit the bets on an app or website it could get interesting . Nobody will drive 2-3 hours to bet at the MGM for 1000 a pop....Ok the meadowlands opens saturday july 14 , but it is only one casino. Monmouth is about an hour away from north NJ

watch the NJ casino's raise the limits on apps / websites or they will lose business.

Not a bookmaker, but I believe that many of them do make tons of money on smaller, perhaps dumber, bettors. Similar to some of the books with mobile apps out here, they may be quite happy to make money that way without having to take on the risks of going toe to toe with larger, perhaps more savvy, bettors on their apps or websites.

That is, books typically appear to be more concerned with risk management as opposed to taking all comers at all betting levels and letting the chips fall where they may.

The operation in DE held $1 mil on a handle of $7 mil since launch. Plenty of dead money to go around. Knowing it is run by Will Hill, have to assume it is entirely square money.

This is going to be the gold rush of the 21st century with operators looking to get involved.

    Good news

On the negative, expect low limits and perhaps even bans

I’m wondering how much of that 14-ish percent is futures bets that may not be graded for months.
