He is much better out of the wind up. He often struggles to prevent that one big inning. Usually happens around 6th or 7th. Manager starting to catch on and get him out of there before it happens.

most relevant stat is ERA and not close. The goal of a pitcher is to prevent runs from scoring, not to strike people out. Not all that complicated. And furthermore you are nowhere near being correct about him leading the majors in K's. Not sure what stats you use.
