    Default VOX's Super-Bowl Selection

Hey gang. Been busy as all hell rehabing after my acident -
    sorry for my absence.

I have done fairly well in this years play-offs,
cashin the last 2 weeks on the Giants ML.

I have no plans on changing that winning way.

Giants on the moneyline - forget the 3 points - this time they win easy!!!

I will be back with a write-up and all of my logic and reasonings.

But I will be playing this one large - so don't miss out!!!

    Back soon...

    VOX

    nuratrim weight loss pill

I made the mistake of taking the Pats but not on the -200 ML. Their poor showing against the Ravens by winning by a quarter of a turn of the place kickers FG attempt shows they are not NY Giants ready.

NY Giants ML for me @+122 was what I got. Small money on a Giants ML and the under. Snorefest IMO.

    Ok fellas -
here's the logic and rerasoning behind
    my Super Bowl selection:

1 - Giants already beat the Pats this season -
as an 11 point underdog - in New England!
    At that time -
the Giants defense was banged up and missing players.
They are all healthy now - and ready to get it on!
2 - Giants had a MUCH harder road to the Super Bowl -
beating the MVP-led Packers in Green Bay -
and the best defense in the NFL @ San Fran.
While the Pats had to beat the lowly Broncos in New England -
    and the offense-challenged Ravens.
If the Ravens could hold the ball...
    3 - Giants beat an 18-0 Pats team -
last time they faced off in a Super Bowl -
just 4 short years ago -
when the Pats had a FAR better team than they do now!
4 - Giants have Eli Manning - who if you have been watching -
has blossomed into what some may argue as -
the best QB in the NFL?
    He comes from a blood-line of QB's -
and has NEVER been taken seriously!
If anyone has a chip on their shoulder -
and something to prove - it's him!
Eli has lived in his brothers' shadow since his youth -
and now a shot at glory!
5 - This game being played in Indy -
has to be advantageous as well for the G-Men.
I think the Pats would have a small edge -
if this were being played outside.
    But in a dome -
I think the fast track helps the Giants and their receivers.
6 - The factors that I consider the most
in any play-off/bowl game are as follows:
Coach - I would say they are even.
    Both learned under Parcells -
and both are at the top of their game at all times.
Defense - I have to give the edge to the Giants here.
    Although the Pats were 13-3,
they did trail the Broncos early -
during their regular season meeting -
as well as the Bills -
who were beating the Pats badly early in their last meeting.
Yes - Brady did make remarkable comebacks in both -
    but my point is this...
If the Pats find themselves down early vs. the Giants -
they will not be so lucky against this defense/coach.
This Giants defense wants to hurt Brady - not just beat him!
Quarterback - It is hard to say anyone -
is better or even equal to Brady.
But if anyone is - it may very well be Eli -
    especially with these weapons!
Brady 4 years ago - was without a doubt better.
    Eli has since improved.
Brady has had a surgery -
and has less quality wide-receivers than ever.
Home field advantage - neutral site - but as mentioned -
I feel the dome helps New York more than New England.
Also - key ankle injury to Pats star T.E. -
    could be hampered by turf.
Experience - coach B. and Brady
have more experience in the big game -
but Eli and coach C. have plenty of know-how.
    7 - I believe that the Giants -
feel they have something to prove in this one.
    After the helmet-sticking catch -
that won the last Super Bowl meeting -
I think the Giants were considred lucky
    or undeserving of the win.
They will leave nothing to speculation this time around.
8 - I expect the Giants defense to be relentless -
and the offense to be aggressive.
I think the thunder and lightning run attack
    of Bradshaw and Jacobs -
will be too much for this Pats defense -
and will also open up the pass attack.
9 - The Pats lack of a run game will also work for the Giants.
This should allow them to come at Brady hard.
10 - No team that has gone 9-7 on the year...
has EVER won a Super Bowl.
    This gives Vegas leverage -
as some will bet the Pats based solely on that fact!
11 - America has turned their love for the Pats into a hatred.
Since spy-gate... the Pats have been looked at differently.
They have also struggled some -
    without those unfair advantages.

In conclusion - I feel that the Giants ML play - is still the play.
I havealso put 1/2 the amount of that wager -
    on the Giants +3.
This is a safety net of sorts -
just in case of a miracle Pats win by 1 or 2.

I see the final score being 30-24 (or worse) -
with the Giants of N.Y. winning out-right.

Disclaimer... As we all know -
anything can and will happen in professional sports.
So only bet what you can afford to lose.

I have wagered 10 units on the Giants ML +125 -
    and 5 units on N.Y. +3 points.

    Best of luck to all.
I hope this helps some of you make your decision.
Enjoy the game - but more importantly -

    CRU$H UR BOOK$!!!

    VOX

    P.S.
    One "wild-card" thought...
Watch for Ocho-Cinco, who has been invisible all year.
He could very well have been used sparingly all season -
    for a reason?
Coach B. might pull something out of his sleeve here -
    against a Giants secondary -
that may be their biggest weakness to exploit -
and would come as a surprise.

    Just a thought.

This was the most well thought out analysis I have seen posted. Congrats. I followed your lead. I did not think of half of these items but I thought it would be a time eating ground game. Most everything you predicted came true except the total of 54. That is one thing that is hard to predict; what are the coaches game plans? In the SB, I was just going to take the under and let the refs screw-up the non-calls. Giants could have lost by 2 on that ref non-call of pass interference. No way to predict that. I am going to take more totals in the big games. Too close for my tastes but its the last game of the year.

Thank you sir... glad u cashed! As for missing the 54 total...
the Giants punted a few times when they had their drives stall...
that should've led to more points on the board.
I will now turn all of my energy to college hoops!
See everyone in the hoops forum!

I only play the BB finals. When it gets to 32 or 16 teams, the seeding is so good that the ML of a 4 favorite parlay {-350 and -450 and -190 and -250 or whatever the ML is] is a high profit, low risk play. My last BB playoff bet had 2 of 4 favorites covering and 2 UD covering, not SU winning. So all the favorites Ml cashed in the parlay.
