Mens decathlon
Womens beach volleyball
Womens long jump

This gives the USA 40 golds. Add the great possibility for Gold in Men's high jump and decent chances in Womens 5000 and a few other events. The USA may also get a gold in womens boxing and we might slip one in on one of the other events no one cares about.

I would say at minimum the US will grab 39 golds at at max they grab 43 golds
