There is no question that the Bodog guy's appearance on the Forbes Magazine awakened the sleeping giant they call the DOJ. But it wasn't so much the DOJ as much as the members of the good ol' boys network that forced the govt. to act. And act quickly! You may recall the Bodog compound in Costa Rica was raided a few days later. Those of you familiar with the recent Bodog disaster of losing their domain name will be aware of the closeness of the time the Forbes article came out and the beginning of the lawsuit by !st Technologies. Spring of 2006, with the lawsuit coming a couple of months after the Forbes story. Very influential people in the US read that story, and were incensed. They had an obviously arrogant Canadian, who had agreed to a twenty year ban for a "pump and dump" scheme, basically saying "FU, Old Boys Network"! And, in effect, the Bodog guy was saying to other site owners, "Hey boys, FU. I'm Number One, I got the money, and I could care less about you guys. Even though I am always bleating about how Bodog is an industry beacon of courage! And before someone destroys the very important question posed in this thread, by suggesting I am a rival site owner, or Calvin fucked my wife, or Bodog owes me money, let me tell you this. I still like the guy, I feel bad that he has basically had his nuts cut off by losing the Bodog name, but the blame has to rest on his shoulders for what has happened to all of us. For those of you who would vote for the UIEGA passage as being the most important, that legislation would never have passed but for all those Congressman having a copy of Forbes provided to them shortly before the vote. No way in hell they were going to let a Canadian stock swindler rub their noses in loopholes. Sorry, Cal. You'll land on your feet. |

Cal was a good guy too. But he always had one big flaw. He thought he was born to greatness. He may have become quite the cocksman since the Forbes story, that wasn't the case at Waterloo. He couldn't buy a piece of a..! back then. But more importantly, Dirty, I have never in all my forum reading days heard AK referred to as anything more than a bit of a lad. But I have read on many, many occassions from posters who claim that Cal has sold his soul to very bad men! The type of men who would hook a person's nuts up to a car battery, to torture information from them! Again, Dirty. The thread title was about the single most important event in the history of online gambling. Let's not denigrate it by hi-jacking it with musings on your own sexual fantasies. Please. | |
