OT: So I am off to buy a laptop computer! Which one if my best deal of the following?

PO69

EOG Master
I am off to buy a laptop computer. I need one for use in hotels when on the road. I really dont need it for porn like everyone else nor do I really need to burn alot of items with this computer. I can use my desktop for that. Now of the choices below, alot of people would say that these computers suck and there isnt enough memory, etc!! Well for 99% of America (except for sexual predators), these computers have MORE memory than they can EVER use!

I mean it isnt like I wont buy another computer in 2 years or so. I buy a new desktop every 2 years or so and at these prices, I might buy another one within 1 year. But again, I really want this computer JUST for use on the road in WI/FI situations. I wont even use the laptop computer at home!!

First of all, let me start with my favorite store on the planet, BEST BUY! I should say that I have been a REWARD ZONE member for over 2 yearsw back to the day when it cost money to be a member. SO I will get a little money back from this purchase from that. But no more than $20 or so. So that doesnt play a huge role.

In other words, I dont really need the printer, but the free refill color and black ink cartridges are nice to have. So the $60 is a nice savings. This price of $499 is a cash price, no rebate required. And I will get around $20 back from the reward zone program I believe. This being my favorite store in the universe should be the obvious choice, but here are a few other options that cost a little less.

==============================================================
==============================================================

Here is the best option at Circuit City. I love this sotre for obvious reasons as well. In this ad, it stats a $150 rebate, but in my local ad, it is the same price, but only a $50 rebate. Thus only around $449 plus tax for the computer.

This is a great deal with my small discount, but it does require more of an outlay than the other choices before the rebate. Also, I see something called WINDOWS VISTA. What is the HELL is that and is it needed?

Any help is appreciated as i am going to buy one of these today or tomorrow

What exactly does it mean by Satellite? I know that it has the === Integrated 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN=== is that the same thing? I will probably go with the Office Depot deal since it is 20 miles from the nearest Best Buy and only 5 miles to Office Depot

info on windows vista
short version....... basically same crap with improvments in video editing and copying but based on your p?st you dont care about that the other is security which if this is a biz laptop could be huge or not depending on your job ..
long version from winki...... is the name of the latest release of Microsoft Windows, a line of graphical operating systems used on personal computers, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, and media centers. Prior to its announcement on July 22, 2005, Vista was known by its codename Longhorn. On November 8, 2006, Windows Vista development was completed and is now in the release to manufacturing stage. Some editions were available to volume license customers, MSDN and TechNet subscribers through November 2006;[1] Microsoft has stated that the scheduled release date for worldwide availability is January 30, 2007.[2] These release dates come more than five years after the release of its predecessor, Windows XP, making it the longest time span between major releases of Windows. According to Microsoft,[3] Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista introduces version 3.0 of the .NET Framework, which aims to make it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.
Microsoft's primary stated objective with Vista, however, has been to improve the state of security in the Windows operating system.[4] One of the most common criticisms of Windows XP and its predecessors has been their commonly exploited security vulnerabilities and overall susceptibility to malware, viruses and buffer overflows. In light of this, then Microsoft chairman Bill Gates announced in early 2002 a company-wide 'Trustworthy Computing initiative' which aims to incorporate security work into every aspect of software development at the company. Microsoft claimed that it prioritized improving the security of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 above finishing Windows Vista, significantly delaying its completion.[5]
During the course of its development, Vista has been the target of a number of negative assessments by various groups. Criticism of Windows Vista has included protracted development time, more restrictive licensing terms, the inclusion of a number of new Digital Rights Management technologies aimed at restricting the copying of protected digital media, and the usability of new features such as User Account Control.
