If they were in the East theyd have a slight chance. Out West they cant compete in a game series with San Antonio. They have great talent though and will surpsies many this year.

Yeah whatever. Denver is a good win, but Lakers letdown after an unexplainable road blowout of the Suns and Nets are 4-6 having played no other West teams than the Hornets.
They have a total of one game against one of the league's best teams and they got beat convincingly in that one at home. I will continue thinking they aren't anywhere near the quality a 9-2 record suggests. These sorts of situations are monetary gold though, bet these guys against bad teams and against them when they step up in class. Just look at that lineup, it doesn't have depth or strike fear into any quality team. Paul is a good one and West is looking great so far, but Peja, MoPete, and Chandler don't give me the feeling this is a team that will get past 45 wins. That even overlooks what appears to be a very weak bench.

Its a good spot for the Hornets, but I am leery because I think Howard can take Chandler to school. Magic are another team I think isn't as good as 9-2 indicates, but probably a little better team than NO due to better depth. I will grant you this, lines are not reflecting the hot start at all.

True. But I have watched a handful of Hornets games. They play well as a cohesive unit. They set picks for Peja. And for some reason MoPete always finds himself open for the corner 3. Paul is great. West is a inside/outside presence. Chandler plays some good d and can board. He has to stay out of foul trouble. I like there bench with Jackson and Butler. They are better than people think.

They are a couple losses from being in 5th and only 4 games up on the 7th place team. Lots of season to go, but I will admit they are a bit better than I thought because West is a monster. But come on still many pieces from competing in May or June.

This is true. 2 weeks ago the Lakers had the best record in the West and now they are the 9th seed with a 28-15 record. So anything can still happen out West.

Same with Utah, they went from 9th to 4th in one night! A really good team will be left out in the West.
