Nick Bogdonavich: What Is He Doing?

I came across a website this week where Nick Bogdonavich was selling his picks along with some guy in a ten-gallon cowboy hat and poor ol' Kelso Sturgeon, who kinda handles the AARP marks by now.

Why is Nick Bogdonavich selling picks? One of the most respected sharps, long-time Vegas sportsbooks managers, and radio guests in town.

The man has been recently hired as head of the Cal-Neva Book. We ain't talking Tim Truschel here. Nick is a sports gambling icon.

Nick is like one of the most respected gamblers/bookies in Nevada.

So what was his site offering me now?

I could get all his NBA, CBI, NIT, NCAA picks and the next three weeks of Arena Football, and his first month of MLB baseball for $100.

Of course I signed up.

Are you crazy? I'll get $100 worth of posting mileage out of this in three days. And I'm a mark in good standing until May 2.

I hope this will be pretty, but I fear for the worst. In the first four days of the service, he has sucked.

I called the service yesterday, asking for the phone number and password for accessing picks over the phone. First question out of the "customer service" representative's mouth was, "How much do you bet a game?"

OOOOOOh...This isn't looking good.

One of the most respected guys in Las Vegas gambling is up to this nonsense? Cal-Neva allows this?

So, while I won't reveal the picks in advance, I will start a "Bogdonavich Watch" daily to report his results.

When the recently-appointed manager of all of Cal-Neva in Nevada needs $100 from me for picks, what is he thinking?

Re: Nick Bogdonavich: What Is He Doing?

I must catch up with what Nick has done for me since I signed up from his tout sevice. It was $100, after all.

I signed up on 3/17 and was lucky enough to be advised to take San Antone -3-5. 0-1

On 3-18, it was Ok State and Nevada over. 1-1

On 3-19, it was Tulsa, Bradley and 76'ers..1-2

2-4 so far.. Looking better today with Pitt advantage this afternoon.

But we all can go 2-4.

Let's just wait for hope.

The first time I encountered this was when Jimmy Vaccaro was sportsbook director at the Mirage, and meanwhile there were full page ads for Vaccaro's picks.

Be interesting to see if Nick the Tout advises betting against numbers that Nick the Bookmaker puts up.

Re: Nick Bogdonavich: What Is He Doing?

The obvious question is always that an accredited sportsbook manager is selling picks for $100 against his own Sportsbook.

Nick Bogdonavich has gone crazy for 100 bucks.

Re: Nick Bogdonavich: What Is He Doing?

NICKWATCH for Thursday:

Nick went 2-2 yesterday, moving his RSIS (record since I subscribed) to 4-6.

1-2 in the NCAA Tourney

3*
Pittsburgh (-8.5) over Oral Roberts

But hope springs infernal. Still looking for first winning day.

Re: Nick Bogdonavich: What Is He Doing?

Just found this on Nick's website..

"I won yesterday afternoon with Pitt over Oral Roberts and I have found 3 perfect spots for today, that have winner written all over them."

Uh Nick, you forgot to mention you had two NCAA losers to go along with your one tournament win.

Very disappointing that you engage in the same "half-truth" tout device as all the others...
