I came across a website this week where Nick Bogdonavich was selling his picks along with some guy in a ten-gallon cowboy hat and poor ol' Kelso Sturgeon, who kinda handles the AARP marks by now.
Why is Nick Bogdonavich selling picks? One of the most respected sharps, long-time Vegas sportsbooks managers, and radio guests in town.
The man has been recently hired as head of the Cal-Neva Book. We ain't talking Tim Truschel here. Nick is a sports gambling icon.
Nick is like one of the most respected gamblers/bookies in Nevada.
So what was his site offering me now?
I could get all his NBA, CBI, NIT, NCAA picks and the next three weeks of Arena Football, and his first month of MLB baseball for $100.
Of course I signed up.
Are you crazy? I'll get $100 worth of posting mileage out of this in three days. And I'm a mark in good standing until May 2.
I hope this will be pretty, but I fear for the worst. In the first four days of the service, he has sucked.
I called the service yesterday, asking for the phone number and password for accessing picks over the phone. First question out of the "customer service" representative's mouth was, "How much do you bet a game?"
OOOOOOh...This isn't looking good.
One of the most respected guys in Las Vegas gambling is up to this nonsense? Cal-Neva allows this?
So, while I won't reveal the picks in advance, I will start a "Bogdonavich Watch" daily to report his results.
When the recently-appointed manager of all of Cal-Neva in Nevada needs $100 from me for picks, what is he thinking?
