Why you trying to bring reason to something that you know is going to be unreasonable?

1. Public is watching in far higher numbers than before.
2. Public has no concept of value.
3. Public knows this is "must win".
4. Public won't ask the price, they will just say "Lakers minus the points"

The public will be reminded Boston's troubles on the road this Playoff season

9 pts?

So I guess the Lakers have basically a 12 pt home ct advantage vs
Boston based on the spreads?

Rivers was pissed after the game ... you can bet a "little reminder" of their
letdown in Q4

Fuck it ... let the public jump all over the "must win" Lakers

The Celtics got complacent in the 4th quarter, lost their intensity, and let the Lakers back in the game.

I hope the public inflates the spread some more.

I'm one that generally believes in calls evening themselves out but the fact that Leon Powe had more foul shots in 15 minutes than the Lakers team did in 240 minutes is quite scary. Were the Celtics really that much more aggressive than the Lakers?

Up to 9.5. I must be missing something.

cant understand this line movement

how can you give the celts this many points in a championship game???

they have to smell it and will be playing their guts out

When you can't for the life of you understand the line movement, that's when you go with what you can't understand.

Re: Biggest spread for Lakers in the playoffs was 8.5 for SA, Utah and Den series. Now 9?

I'm guessing the reason is that a lot of chalk bangers are chasing on the money line with the Lakers thinking "OK they -must- win -one- game eventually". And when the money line odds get driven to a joke, bookies also have to adjust the point spread so people are discourages from a Polish middle or something like that.

It's pretty unbelievable to see a line this high for an NBA Finals game, but it's the Lakers and they are down 0-2. In their most recent Finals when they lost to Detroit, I remember the Lakers opened the series at home as 8 point favorites. That's just how it is when the Lakers are involved - they know everyone just wants to take them.
