The most cynical tribute to dead celebrities is how others in position will capitalize and exploit their passing for years to come. Carlin is no different.
Some greedy company that owns the rights to the material is going to release, "The Greatest of George Carlin," "Tribute To George Carlin," "George Carlin LIVE in Las Vegas," "George Carlin Unplugged," "George Carlin: Home For Christmas," "George Carlin:The Bootleg Tapes," "George Carlin: Banned In Boston," and so on. I could write these all night.
The poor man is so dead, but his body of work will be repackaged over and over to the delight of the rights holders.
I rest assured they have his memory and best interests in mind.
