what is scalping

Re: what is scalping

It's when you bet opposing sides of the same game with favorable enough odds on both bets that you end up clearing a small profit no matter which side wins.

Re: what is scalping

Can't knock making a few dollars profit.

But for most, it just whacks one account, and over imbibes another. Then you have to get money back to the account that lost. It's kind of a pain these days..

JJ did you whore bonuses? "Whacking" one account has a positive effect on overall EV.

Ape,

Hopefully this will help as well.....

Determining a Wager
To determine a wager, you must find two different sports books that have an outcome of a positive result.
Example: Pinnacle Sports book has Dallas Cowboys as the favorite showing -110 or 1.91 for spread bet -3. (This means Dallas has to win the game by three points for you to win the wager, and you must bet $110 to win $100. The 1.91 is the European odds) BetCris sports book has Eagles +3 at +125 or 2.25. (This means that the Eagles must either win or lose by less than three points for you to win the wager. You must bet $100 to win $125. Once again, the 2.25 is the European odds). To figure out the percentage of profit:
1/ 2.25= .44 .44 + .53 = .97
1/ 1.9 = .53 1/ .97 = 1.031 * 100 =103.09-100 = 3.09
3.01 % Arb open 3.09 Arb
If the total of the two odds is 1 or greater than 1 then it is not an Arb.
(Exactly one is okay for bonus money, but not for complete investment.)

Betting With Bonuses
Many sports books offer bonuses of 20% just for forming an account with them. There are conditions and terms that apply to the bonus money. Many of these stipulate the deposit and bonus money must be wagered at least three times. If the money is withdrawn from the account before the stipulations are met, then you forfeit the bonus.
Example: Pinnacle has a line of Dallas Cowboys -7 +100. You then find a line that has equal or greater value. You find BetCris has a line with the Philadelphia Eagles +7 +110. With this combination you will increase your earnings.
You then bet: $1200 at Pinnacle
$1100 at BetCris
This bet will result in at least $100 profit and 25% Arbitration money.
Several of the sports books offer re-load bonuses for re-depositing the money into your account. By doing this, you can ?earn? extra money that although it is ?free? still has stipulations similar to the sign up bonus money. There are basically two options for re-loading your money. First, you can withdrawn your money and re-deposit it or second you can deposit more money into your account.

Increasing Your Arb Percentage
Now, for those of you that wish to have an even bigger edge above the rest, here comes the more detailed method of increasing your Arb percentage. One way to do this is to adjust the stake wagered on the favorite by increasing the wager on the favorite and decreasing the wager on the underdog. Since the favorites usually win 60% of the time, this means that there is a 60 % chance that you will increase your winnings. If by chance, the favorites lose, then you will break even.
