Phillies signed Brad Lidge to a three-year, $37.5 million contract extension.

Why? He wan't pitching well at all. The guy was given many chances and he couldn't mentally do it. The change of scenery has helped him.

I also disagree

He HAD to be moved - he was "mentally" done there and needed to a change of scenery. IF he was still with Houston he would NOT be doing this well

Yeah, Hou had little choice, he was getting clobbered and with relievers sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes.

Lidge went to sleep every night with nightmares of Pujols. That ball still hasn't landed and it was hit almost three years ago.
