November was my worse month last year in NFL, so this is my Nov. action. Remember that the underdog won the Super Bowl.

Agree -- Not to mention the fact that 9 out of 10 News people vote for Democrats so don't you think their polls may be scewed in some fashion ?? Not to mention the fact that Al idiot Bore and John Traitor Kerry were both ahead in the polls and ended up getting their ass kicked like most Democrat candidates over the last 50 years or so.

diebold and chads won both elections, bush was down to a 7/1 dog by the exit polls on thegreek.com vs kerry ... never in any election had anyone come back from being down even close to that--but i guess those wtcs were a fluke falling 3/3 when it hadnt happened before or since either

Dear Dime; Please explain further. Are you referring to hanging chads and the machines that run them? G.W. Bush won Ohio by 120,000 votes. I had quite a bit on G.W. Bush, but I only got 7/5. I do not care what wins the bet. I only care that bookmaker pays off.

It was 47% Dem, 43% Rep, the last poll I saw yesterday.

papers came out, it was because a big magazine had held a poll where 100,000 readers had spent a penny for a postcard stamp and sent in their opinion that Dewey was their choice. This was something I studied in statistics class back in school. It was a statistically impossible event to be wrong. If an event is statistically impossible, you must reexamine your premises. Since the pool of readers was very conservative and Republican, the pool of readers was a biased sample. Reporters are in fact 9 out 10 Dem, or a little bit more, like 92% but this changes a few percent.

I am good at picking Rep. winners. When many Republicans were worried about winning the 1984 election, I called it 48-3 with Mondale winning also Mass. He only got D.C. and his home state of Minn.

He was the frontrunner in the race, facing competition from Rev. Jesse Jackson and Senator Gary Hart of Colorado. Jackson's support dried up after he made an off-the-record reference to Jews as "Hymies" and New York City as "Hymietown."

I am waiting for a hymietown incident to finish Obama off. Then the odds will fall overnight.

It took me this long to figure out you were referring to McCain. The betting line on Rep canidates peaks early. I got Bush at 7/5 early and he was the favorite by post time of 5/7.

The Greek's current odds. It will only go higher, and should peak right after the Dem Convention at about +250 on McCain. Even then, I'd only take it as a buy back if you got Obama at reasonable odds of less than -200, as McCain has an EXTEMELY slim chance.

There will be a monster article out tomorrow in Atlantic Monthly with 200 scanned memos from the Clinton campaign. The two I have heard are to the effects "Obama is unelectable"; "Obama is unelectable, except to Attila the Hun". These may well throw cold water on his getting the nomination. When there were still was two primaries left, Fox news had their roundtable including Charles Krauthammer. When it came to his turn on the question of when will Hillary quit running for President Charles said "The answer to that question is easy; when someone drives a stake through her heart".

The bet was +185 early this morning. I was going to pick Palin at +500 against a big field with Rommney, et al, but if Hillery was VP pick, McCain would have gone with Condoleezza Rice. Veep bet is over.

Gov. Palin is one of 50 Governors. They all have executive experience including signing Death Warrants. There has only been two Presidents elected from the Senate last century, JFK and one a long time ago.

Senators are thought to have "compriseitius" and not make good command decisions.

Palin will gut the Bob Barr vote giving it back to the GOP. Turning 72 with a history of cancer and a face that seems to grow every half a year or so, it is very possible McCain will step down or worse during four years. This will be on the minds of women who want a woman groomed for the White House.
