Stewart should have considerable value in NL-only leagues until Todd Helton comes back. As for Koshansky, well, if he's not good enough to be on the team right now, the Rockies might as well put him on waivers and see if someone else wants him. He's 26 and has nothing left to prove in the minors.

Since being promoted to Triple-A, Richard has posted a 2.37 ERA and limited opposing batters to a .181 BAA in six starts. He's surrendered just 20 walks in 121 2/3 minor league innings this season.

It's beginning to look like season-ending surgery is a possibility for him. The Yankees could utilize him as a DH even if he couldn't catch, but he's not hitting like he did last year and might not be an upgrade in the spot. Also, it he waits to undergo surgery, then there's a good chance he wouldn't be ready for the start of 2009. The Yankees will go with Jose Molina behind the plate for now. They have Chad Moeller on the roster as a backup, but they'll likely look for an alternative there (Gregg Zaun?) if Posada chooses surgery.

He has very nice pop for an infielder, but that's really the only thing working in his favor. He was hitting .242/.321/.484 with 21 homers in the PCL. Defensively, he's a below average second baseman incapable of playing shortstop in more than an emergency. He might not be a bad 25th man, but the A's would likely go to Eric Patterson or Gregorio Petit as a regular if they lost either Mark Ellis or Bobby Crosby to injury.
