He was 8-6 with a 6.38 ERA in 21 starts for Baltimore, and had been demoted to the bullpen after his last start. Radhames Liz will be recalled to start in his place on Friday.

He'll be back in September, but might not rejoin Boston's rotation.

His eye is swollen shut, but doctors don't expect any long-term vision problems.

Expect him to see action in center and left against right-handers.

He's never hit for much average, but he's is a legitimate threat to hit 20 homers in a full season. He's arbitration eligible through 2011.
