I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the "International Online Gaming Association." He told me that he has learned, from an inside source, there would be a raid on the Kahnawake Gaming Reservation next week. All accounts will become frozen, subject to IRS inspection, etc...the whole nine yards. I have accounts with both SIA and Bodog, which is how I guess he got my phone number.
Apparently, the sportsbooks couldn't contact me directly, but they view me as a valuable customer and are offering me the chance to protect my account. For a 15% lawyer's fee, I could transfer my account balances to a special protected account. For this 15% fee, I would have my money guaranteed by Monday and be tax-protected somehow.
From reading posts, I don't think many people here play at SIA or Bodog, but I am wondering has anybody else has ever received a call like this one?
They must be out of their mind to think I am going to send money to a stranger that calls me out of the blue, but it was concerning nonetheless.
