He probably didnt want to hurt the players stats( since the 7 yard gain would be wiped out), decisions like that cannot ignored.

it took no balls to go for 2, nothing to lose. what was stupid was the play. roll this clown out and take away 70% of the field and create a defender in the sideline.

Wouldn't it be ok to take 2nd and 3? You lose a down but you're 2 yards closer to the end zone. Its pretty easy to make a first down in 2 tries with only 3 yards to go. I guess Herm didn't want his player to lose the 7 yards for his stats or something. Its not really a big deal anyway.

no, its not ok. 1 down is not worth 2 yards. 3 chances to get 5 is better than 2 chances to get 3.

Well the Chiefs are now 1-8 so they're playing to win the 1st pick of the draft. Herm might have done that on purpose. Who knows and who really cares. He'll be out at the end of the year anyway.

that was just about as bad as it gets. amazing how many times teams do that down there.
