spring means nothing. peralta might not even be a top 10 ss this year

rollins, hanley, reyes, drew, jeter, tulo...all much better than peralta.

Tripp, you could not possibly be further from being correct.

about what? spring does mean nothing. I personally don't care how any of my guys are doing in spring.

i get people don't like jeter, but he's still definitely better than freaking johnny peralta. stephen drew will be great this year also

1) spring doesnt mean a lot, but it doesnt indicate zero.
2) I would love to make a side bet with you on peralta finishing in the top 10.

I'm going to kick your butt, tripper.

haha well you finally know that the jacobs thread was sarcastic. peralta being a top 10 ss is not.

10 ss was an exaggeration. i will admit i said that before looking at other SS's. he's ranked 8th by sportsline, and wow are the ones behind him ever awful. fucking edgar renteria is ranked in the top 15. i was likely wrong there, you are right. he is top 10 at the ss position. not going to be top 6 though.

sides are on. we'll go with more points.

Re: .435/.447/.717

he is 26, so his career numbers come from when? When most guys are in the minors.

he'll hit .275
hit 28 hrs
hit 45 doubles
score 80 times
steal 3
knock in about 90

Re: .435/.447/.717

4 years of 500+ AB's. No significant jumps in any of his career numbers while his BB's and K's have remained consistent. If Furcal and Tulowitzki get hurt, then Peralta could make the top 10 at SS, not if they remain healthy.

Re: .435/.447/.717

you wouldn't put money on that though.

and yes, actually, his power numbers have shown progress.

Re: .435/.447/.717

.313/.376/.473

Peralta's best month in 2008

.336/.390/.536

Peralta's best month in his career

No doubt about it....Peralta is having a career spring training.
