Poker playing online,Q.?

Hey guys,I can a pretty gullible individual sometimes !
So will some of you dedicated poker [online] players give me your "honest "opinion----how many ,percentage wise, online poker sights are completely straight-up,no cheating ,or fixed poker hands ?
I only played once[last year with Bodog],and for the first 2 hours I could do no wrong, but my domination of the game ended soon after the wagers increased !
I was losing so fast, even with very good hands !Most of the time it was the last card up that killed me one way or the other .So I ended up losing all my hard earned profits, and then some, in less than 30 minutes !
It looked suspicious to me ,however, like I said, I was new at this game .
What say you gambling experts, can the online poker games be fixed ?

Pretty easy to tell when people are colluding against you, but you cant do crap about the "random" number generators throwing out the cards. Did you see the article about the scandal at absolutepoker?

Re: Poker playing online,Q.?

There was an ex employee of absolute poker that was playing in high buy in tournaments. He had some inside info where he could see everyones cards. So the guy that got 2nd place asked for the tournament history, and he recieved the history that showed the cards that everyone had. On the last hand the 2nd place player went allin on a bluff and was called by the ex employee who was holding a 10 high and won the tourney.

There's no telling. After the cheating scandals at Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, who knows what other sites are being affected, not to mention collusion among players. I would predict that the chances of cheating increases as the limits increase. From the '60 Minutes' story, I got the sense that the players monitored other players rather than relying on the websites to catch cheaters.

I used to play at bodog - in my opinion they were fixed, for example, for some strange reason when I would have the stone cold nuts and am ready to reraise some poor sap allin, my connection would strangly freeze and I would get timed out. This only happened when I had the best of a big pot...never any other time. I play pokerstars now and it has never, ever happened even once. I would say that most of the big sites are legit - although that doesnt mean you will not see a whole shitload of ridiculous hands. Stick to stars and full tilt and you'll be ok.

Re: Poker playing online,Q.?

stick to FullTilt huh? so Howard Lederer and 'jesus' ferguson can continue to hustle the general poker public? this site was founded by a bunch of "tv professionals" (just like Russ Hamilton), and I wouldn't be shocked if FTP wasn't doing everything exactly on the up-and-up...

Re: Poker playing online,Q.?

I took jesus out of a 200+15 buying tourney there and got my entry fee back. So its not always rigged there if at all.

Geee BSH,are you saying that they rig the games just once in a "blue" moon ?
Sooo.. the odds are that ..if I have 4 ACES after last card[my dream hand I have been patiently waiting for] ,do I have to worry about someone slamming me with a straight flush ,darn it?

30k tourney on sportsbook.com's poker i had AA vs A7 with 4 people left. The board came like this: A77 4 7...worst loss ever for me. And it was about a 5k difference in pay from first to 4th. When i won the 100+r on stars jj cracked my aa, but runner runner straight cards saved me from getting 18th place for about 800 bucks, and went on to win it for 23 thousand. Thats why i say the "random" number things seem to be off a bit.
