LeBron ain't no Jordan

Jordan was hurt at the age of 22. Look at the stats of both at 23 and 24 where Jordan averaged 37 and 35 points per game with a really shitty lineup. Jordan also better defensively.

Don't even "joke" about Michael !
MJ was a GOD !It might take another 30 years for some player to even come close to his "perfection" for Basketball, and "winning" ?
Perfect in all these categories,..... fighting spirit, body coordination, on court attitude, shooting, defense, clutch ..all equaling== Basketball God :+whipping

lebron is no jordan, NO ONE is a jordan, but lebron is the closest thing since jordan's peak that we've seen to the overall greatness in his gm

When LeBron is done with his career, Jordan will be an afterthought.

Fuck ... people have conveniently forgotten Bill Russell already, so Jordan will be forgotten in the same way.

ppl will never forget jordan, he was just too incredible

bill russell a completely different guy, a defensive specialist, retired 40 yrs ago and by most accts wilt chamberlain overshadowed russell in terms of pure ability but russell had the rings because he had a better overall team around him for most of his career

comparing russell to jordan in terms of nba legacy and who will be remembered more is simply not a good comparison

is lebron going for a 3-peat this year?

he'll go for his 3-peat in 2011, at the ripe age of 26 :houra

patience, sir, let lebron have his career, the dude is only 24 friggen yrs old!

Then stay out of the thread and stop with the most used cliche on the forums, "get a life". At least be original.

LeBron vs Kobe will be great to watch and great for TV ratings. Their dream match-up.

Since Lebron has no Championship rings ...you must mean he's going to get an operation in 2011 to add two more "peckers",right ? :+clueless

Lebron was guarded once in eight games so far and he ended up with 21 points. If u guard him he is an above average player and nothing else. That is why Orlando should win the series with Boston. The league doesn't want Pierce anywhere near him. Orlando can do what Atlanta and Detroit has done and that is to run away when he comes in the lane. Then of course Howard will be in foul trouble the whole series so the refs can open up the lane for the chosen one. Ask urself why else would Orlando be favored in the series right now with Boston? Boston has two games at home and 9 out of ten times game 7's go to the home team. So get use to the chosen one running around in another series against a terrible defensive club. Tukaloo will be running around like a jackass and Rashard plays no defense. It couldn't work out any better for Lebron. Playing these teams who refuse to play defense. Don't think this is an accident fellas. When Lebron went to the finals the first time four teams had to lose the last day of the year in order for Cleveland to move from the seven spot to the two spot in order to play a banged up Wizzards team and again have the easy ride thru the playoffs. This league is nothing more then the WWE. Take the Cavs fellas cause he is getting his championship unless he blows a knee out or something. Take the Cavs people. I know i have and will continue to bet them in each series. Not the game but the series. Wish i took them in the games but that is to late now.

Jordan was the first international star the NBA ever had. When you go to Japan and tell people you're from Chicago, many will still bring up Jordan. Jordan did so much for the game that he'll never be forgotten. Lebron will never be able to do as much for the game as Mike. Jordan created his own brand, off of the Nike brand, he was always in a spot to hit a huge shot in a huge game, and he did. Jordan was great, and lucky, at the same time. I'm not sure any other player will be given enough opportunities to pass Jordan up. Jordan's legacy is much bigger than his basketball game alone.

Re: LeBron ain't no Jordan

The most important thing in a Lebron v MJ comparison is the era these players played in. Players today are bigger, stronger and faster and if you believe that, you have to say the best player of today is better than the best player of 20 years ago.

If you think athletes are NOT getting bigger, stronger and faster, than you can really go head to head statistically.

Everyone is forgotten.

Ask 15-20 year olds to name the best basketball players and less than 5% will say Wilt, Oscar or Russell

With time, generations change and memories fade.

No, because Jordan has his own brand and kids are growing up still trying to become him. Stars in the NBA today where his brand, and shoes. He's the face of the NBA still, and he's been retired for 10 years. He's a different animal. Wilt and Russell didn't have the media and spot light focused on them at all times. Jordan's legacy is much more than a basketball legacy.

What about the unibomber and hitler? Hitler is still more well known even though the unibomber was more recent.

sharp post. Those that have never seen Jordan in his prime will never point to him as the best.

Who will they point at as the best then? Are you saying if a person has only seen a high school basketball team play, but they have never seen an Nba team that they will call the highschool team better?

Thank you finally someone that actually watches games. Put a solid defender on bron and he will put up 20-25. That is outstanding and nobody is denying that he is good but good enough for me to suck his dick like everybody else. I don't fucking think so. If you WATCH the games it's not hard to see that if you defend his shots he can't shoot for shit. He will always be able to take the ball to the rack because of his speed and size and you can't do much about that. Also jordan be forgotten What? His name is on an enormous branch of nike. Are you kidding?

For a Chicago fan, maybe. For me, MJ is old news.

For Boston fans, Ted Williams is God. For most others, he's a dead guy.

Not everyone likes Jordan and some people think he's not the best ever. Just overhyped by NBA pub.

above average isnt a bad player. U and i are usually pretty close on what we think. I realize he is a great player there is no denying that. I just don't see it when someone has the balls to guard him or in my world the league lets someone guard him. I never had those feelings when it was Mike or even Kobe. He is getting better tho i will give him that and i like seeing him finally getting that drive to win like Jordan had. I don't see that with D Howard.

everyone who matters thinks jordan is the greatest player of all time........even the late great chick hearn the hall of fame laker broadcaster for 45 yrs said it many times when ppl asked if bird, magic, or someone else was the best ever...........chick said it was michael jordan.........everyone who matters knows that what he did in the modern era, getting 6 rings, is absolutely incredible.......he is the best ever, there is no discussion, really
