Hey Tripp and Stink. If the impossiable happens and the Saints lose a game before the end of the season, do you want your $100 now, or can we wait till both bets are complete.

I dont care either way, I would just like to know one way or the other

7-0

Let the excuses begin.

This Viking lovefest is getting sick

They win 2 games in the last second against sub .500 teams but they are the greatest team since EARTH began.

The Saints finally win a game by less then 14 points and they Suck.

LOL

For the first time this season saints fail to cover

I think the Vikes have missed the spread 3 times already

The Aints didn't seem to want the ball after the 2 minute mark...can you explain Chop?

Re: OK I have to predict it. 16-0 for the Saints

Their Defense is not that good...
Darren Sharper would likely disagree, as would I.

Because the NFC South is so weak, the Saints schedule is basically a cake-walk. The only teams that have a prayer of beating this Saints squad are the Pats, Falcons and Cowboys. They really could go 16-0. 12io4j2w90

Re: OK I have to predict it. 16-0 for the Saints

they are gonna miss Ellis

DT is one of the most important yet unsung positions on a football team

plugging up the middle allows linebackers to roam, and obviously makes it harder to run the ball

ask the Jets if they miss Jenkins...as a Panther fan I knew he was top notch when HEALTHY

which he seldom remains...

so now the Saints do have a glaring weakness

they are missing a stud DT and thus cant stop the run

agreed, I think the forum is mistaking Ellis injurey with the Saints being a weak run D.
Ellis is a monster
From what I hear he will be back for the N.E game.

The Saints have the Panthers, the Rams and the Bucs the next three weeks - will they really need him? Stewart and Williams my give them some trouble next week, but Delhomme will make up for that, coupled with the fact that the Saints have way too much offense for Carolina to be any real threat.
Wont Ellis be back in after these games?

Re: OK I have to predict it. 16-0 for the Saints

Carolina is much better than they have been playing

call me a homer but I think thats not blind hope but reality

after that though :D

the saints do have any easy schedule...that wasnt my point though

I wasnt saying they will lose a bunch of games just pointed out Ellis will be missed

will it make a difference? Im with you I think they keep it together regardless...

they will give up yards on the ground though....and maybe that will keep the doubters happy...

Ive got Saints winning NFC +1200 so im def in the Saints believer camp

I dont appreciate the jinx/16-0 thread by Chop though :)

I dont appreciate the jinx/16-0 thread by Chop though :)

Well I think I started this thread in week 2, so the Saints are 5-0 since I started this thread. So I dont think you have to worry about the jinx.

I bet Tripp and Stink are at least semi nervous right now.

I made the over 13.5 bet as a hedge to my 16-0 bet.
As much as I believed the real chance of the Saints going 16-0, there is always a chance that something crazy can happen.

I am basically freerolling Tripp and Stink at this point.
The Saints chances of winning less then 14 games is almost zero at this point, so there is no chance of me losing money.

The Saints real odds of going 16-0 are at least 40% now.
And the odds of the Saints winning less then 14 are less then 2%

oddsmaker now says Saints chances of 16-0 are 8 to 1
Now my 10-1 bet is not looking so dumb is it?

http://community.foxsports.com/oddsshark/blog/2009/11/05/sportsbooks_say_saints_aint_going_perfect

Thursday, November 5, 2009, 03:25 PM EST [NFL]

New Orleans is 7-0 and dominating teams like the 2007 Patriots dominated teams.

Not only have the Saints won, but they have covered big spreads in the process, although they failed to cover 12 points at home Monday against the Falcons. They face another big number (-14.5 as the consensus opening line at OddsShark.com) at home this week.

But when discussions begin about the Saints duplicating New England?s 16-0 season and running the table in 2009, oddsmakers say it ain?t gonna happen for the Saints.

?The question invariably starts being asked - can they duplicate the Patriots perfect season of 2007?" Richard Gardner of sportsbook Bodog said Thursday, just before http://community.foxsports.com/oddsshark/admin/ <a href=posting odds on the Saints perfect season.

"Our analysis and number-crunching tells us that, despite their easy schedule, they still have two very tough opponents and the chances of them going 16-0 would, in effect, be 8/1. We will let our bettors decide what the answer is," said Gardner.

So a $100 wager on a perfect season would pay you $800 on the first Sunday of January. Can the Saints stay perfect for two months?

Of course one of those tough opponents is the aforementioned Pats, who visit the Superdome in Week 12. If New Orleans is 10-0 at that time, you can expect the Patriots to passionately defend their own legacy of perfection.

The other ?tough? game ? on paper anyway - is Dallas, also at home, in Week 15. Dallas visits Philly this week for the Sunday night game as a small dog of 3 points. However, OddsShark.com analyst Mike Pickett figures that will climb a point or more when Brian Westbrook is declared active.

Other than those two matches, it looks like relatively smooth marching for the Saints. They have winless Tampa Bay in Weeks 11 and 16 and dates with the Rams and Redskins, arguably two of the league?s worst teams.

They face Atlanta again and have a home-and-home set with Carolina. On the surface, the struggling Panthers (3-4) look like cupcake games as well.

But on the heels of an upset win at Arizona where they won outright as a double-digit underdog, can Carolina put the ?ain?t? back in Saints this week? Carolina opened as 14.5-point road underdogs, but they get the Saints on a short week and have dominated at the Superdome.

The number has been bet down to -13, as football bettors, who watched the Saints barely escape the Falcons, smell against-the-spread trouble. Fans are also wondering if Carolina?s five interceptions signaled a poor game from Kurt Warner or an improving secondary and defense.

The Panthers, albeit with stronger rosters than this 2009 edition, have won seven straight at New Orleans. They are 8-0 ATS in their past eight visits to the Mardi Gras town.

It won't be easy for Saints to go undefeated

By JASON MUNZ
American Sports Writer
EIGHT-AND-OH ? boy, that sure has a nice ring to it, doesn?t it? I know it sounds awfully good to each and every New Orleans Saints fan.
What may sound even better is the Saints? upcoming schedule: Sunday at St. Louis, Nov. 22 at Tampa Bay and Dec. 6 at Washington. Oh, and don?t forget about the last two games of the year, Dec. 27 at home against the Bucs and Jan. 3 at Carolina.

Definitely not the toughest of schedules the rest of the way, but there are a few things Saints fans should at least keep in mind before their heads get too far into the clouds.
First of all, while I?m on the subject of the team?s remaining schedule, I wouldn?t bet on the Saints finishing undefeated. I hope I?m wrong, but I just don?t think it?s going to happen. The Saints host New England on Nov. 30, and while the Patriots aren?t as scary as they?ve been in recent years, they?re still not a pushover. Not by a long shot.

Then there?s the road game against the Redskins coming off a short week. I think we can all agree that the Saints? bread and butter is their passing game. Well, don?t look now, but the Redskins have the best pass defense in all of football.

Granted, the New York Jets, New York Giants and Panthers are second, third and sixth respectively in passing yards allowed per game, and the Saints beat each one of them. But odds are there?s going to come a day when a team?s defense causes more problems than the 2009 Saints have had to deal with, and the Redskins might just be that defense.

The week after the Redskins, the Saints travel to Atlanta for what is always a tough NFC South matchup. Maybe not as tough as recent years, but it still ought to be tough nonetheless.

After Atlanta, New Orleans hosts Dallas. While the Cowboys looked shaky to begin the season, they?ve come on strong over the past few weeks. The emergence of Miles Austin has certainly helped, and the fact that Jason Witten could come alive at any moment is surely a scary thought.

Just to give an idea of how dangerous the Cowboys offense has become, it is currently ranked fourth in the NFL in yards per game. And it?s pretty balanced, as they?re sixth in the league in passing yards per game and eighth in rushing yards a game.

My guess is they handle the Redskins, Falcons and Cowboys. The Patriots, however, are going to be tough on Monday night.

But the one thing that Saints fans need to worry about more than anything else is the turnover bug that has bitten the team in recent weeks. They?ve totaled 10 over the past three games after turning the ball over just six times in their first five games.

In eight games, the Saints have committed four turnovers twice, three turnovers once, two turnovers once and one turnover three times. Only once all season have the Saints not turned the ball over and it was against the Giants.

The only reason they?re still undefeated is because the Saint defense is taking the ball away than the offense is giving it away. Get the turnover situation under control and the Saints should cruise to a first-round bye in the playoffs and homefield advantage throughout.

Re: OK I have to predict it. 16-0 for the Saints

I figured out how we can do it.
We just need to go 8-0 twice.

Did it once already with the tough part of the scedule.
Now we need to do it again against Tampa twice, St Louis, Caralina etc.....

Getting nervous yet tripp and stink?

I would, ecpecially considering that the sportsbooks had the odds of the Saints going 16-0 at 8/1 and this was before the Caralina win.

Re: OK I have to predict it. 16-0 for the Saints

11-15-09:
ST. LOUIS (AP) -Reggie Bush helped the unbeaten New Orleans Saints overcome another bundle of mistakes and get off to the best start in team history.
Bush scored twice for the first time in more than a year and Drew Brees compensated for two interceptions with two touchdown passes in a 28-23 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Courtney Roby opened the second half with a 97-yard kickoff return and Robert Meachem's 27-yard grab early in the fourth quarter gave New Orleans (9-0) just enough breathing room to tie the franchise record with nine straight wins.
Marc Bulger's 19-yard pass to Donnie Avery shaved the deficit to five with 2:44 to go and the Rams (1-8) made it to the New Orleans 32 before Bulger threw incomplete into the end zone on the final play.

9-0

But we are beat up right now.

Hightimes you are mistaking our defense with injuries. We had 5 starters out with injuries today.

Both starting corners(greer and Porter) a starting safety (sharper) and our big run stuffer(sedrick ellis)

This is not the saints real D. Half of it is on the sidelines. We have to get these guys back soon or the saints will never see 16-0

There are not many teams would could have beat today.

No matter what happens the rest of the season I was more right then most people in this thread.

When I started this thread, there were people that said we would go 9-7 or less.
Read page 1.
There is some funny stuff on that page.
We are playing the patsys at the right time. I hope we can get most of the injured players back by the N.E game.
I think we can get everyone back but Porter by then.

10-0

Not even a DOS attack will keep me from bumping this.

I know Tripp and Stink are getting scared now.

I am all but freerolling now. 14-2 is almost a lock meaning I will break even. Now the only question is 16-0.

You guys better hope N.E wins Monday. The bookmakers dont think its going to happen. It is almost your last chance.

Was this still the dumbest predict you guys have ever heard?

A freeroll for $2200. I like that. Dont think there is any chance we wont win at least 14, which means I do no worse the break even. Of course I think it will be 16-0 when all is said and done.

I am even willing to go 2x or nothing with tripp and stink on the Saints going 19-0 if you are interested.

That was the biggest test left in the season. The league is running out of bullets and the Saints still have a full sheild.

I sure would hate to be holding your tickets right now.
