Alan Boston, Gambling Fraud?

I've put up with this guy cursing me out, calling me out as a no talent, etc, etc. I'm certainly not alone there, as I've seen Good Ole Boston rips everyone from Coack K ("that guy is an idiot and cannot coach a lick"), to watching him rip into a live poker dealer that made a procedural mistake, literally bringing her to tears.

I've personally never been impressed with anything Boston says about anything not related to College Baskets. I did think what he said had good merit in College Baskets, but I also think he lost his edge even in this area in recent years.

But even I am amazed at how bad "Alan Boston" poker "pro"' 's stats are. Specifically, according to Pokertableratings.com, he has a PTR ranking of 26, 'making' a -4 bb/100, and down $4,000 playing micro stakes. Yet this guys on Winning Wednesdays (when he wasn't cursing me out, or ripping others) talked about how he was having "high level NL theory discussions" about the game. Based on his stats, that would be like Bozo the Clown taking on Fisher in Chess.

Two conclusions:

1. Full Tilt Poker is letting some imposter by the name of Alan Boston play poker and donk away OR

2. Alan Boston (to use his favorite langage) cannot play a lick. NOT A LICK.


Let me add, I'm no poker expert. Further, my game has holes all over it. Yet, my stats (and everyone I know that I respect) are very solid. I am AMAZED at how bad these stats are.

Never really understood what warranted 3 Winning Wednesdays. Seemed nothing more than a string of entertaining sound bytes for some of the folks here.

I consider this to be quite an amazing feat...... had a bunch of close calls when starting out at 1300.......AND then again at the 1900 level.

I remember a game vs. a 1500, rook and 1 vs. rook and 2, and I was holding the draw, and he simply wouldn't take it. After 20 moves I got the pawn back amazingly, and it was a dead draw.

54 moves later, and at 4am, i won that game.........and got CRUSHED by Ginsberg in 23 moves 5 hours later..........

THe more I think about this the more ridiculous this had become. This guy can run around cussing me and others out, having all kinds of questionable business practices, yet question him and HE LOSES HIS MIND.

I would have NO PROBLEM telling this guy (the chief gambling punk of the city) off to his face.......and I'm frankly embarrassd I didn't do so when this idiot totally uncalled for ripped into our nice Dealer at the Palms in his hostile, condenscending, total chief punk attitude.

The Winning Wednesday's have been great except for three bad guests and six wasted weeks. Boston on for three weeks was bad, Adam Meyer on for two weeks was horrific and Jorge Gonzalez for a week was a total waste of time. All in all great internet radio except for three bad guests covering six weeks.

I was rated around 1600-1700 or so some years back. Played a grandmaster friend(2500+ rating) a few times just for kicks. Talk about getting buried......was like playing 1-1 with Kobe Bryant. :doh1

Funny thing the one time I met Fezzik as I was standing there chatting with him AB was no more than a foot away from us. There should have been some punches thrown.

I dont think he is trying to win in the FTP, he is an instructor and tells people what his hand is. He is there to teach which Alan is very good at.

Some thin skin dealer squirted a tear? BFD. Dealer has emotional problems that have NOTHING to do with Alan.

I distinctly remember Alan Boston on Winning Wednesday's playing down his poker prowess and in no way was he pretending to be a NL big shot.

He was good value on the show and Ken blotted his copybook with 'that' question.

Fezzik - pissing and moaning about Boston on here only makes you as bad as him. Rise above it and don't give him the satisfaction. If you have problem just call him up, I'm sure Ken can give you his number.

I have an idea. The shrink can set up a no limit holdem head to head match between Boston and Fezz. Each guy puts $10,000 into the pot and they play until one of them has $20,000. Also, maybe we could have John Kelly do a live play by play so the forum doesn't miss the action. Lastly, maybe we can get Bookmaker to put a line on the match. :pop:

I think a showdown in the Octagon would draw more interest and higher ratings than a head-to-head poker game. In hand-to-hand combat, Fezzik would be the favorite by virtue of his superior size and strength, not to mention his mind for strategy. Boston has proven he can take a knock to the head, so the fight should go the distance. Let's get it on!
