Absurd.
MVP = best player. Period. The player who performs the best offers the most value to his team.
You're penalizing Kemp because his teammates are inferior to Braun's. That's just silly. Put Kemp on a team with Greinke, Gallardo, Marcum, Fielder, Weeks and he's in the playoffs right now, too.
Take away those players from Milwaukee, and instead replace them with Billingsley, Lilly, Kuroda, Loney, Miles and let's see Braun lead his team to the playoffs.
Value is value. Doesn't matter if it comes on a 110 win team or a 60 win team. The player who performs the best naturally offers the most value. Kemp was better than Braun. He put up better numbers, and he did so against much tougher pitching (NL Central is the worst pitching division in baseball) and despite playing half his games in an extreme pitchers' park (while Braun teed off in one of the premier hitting parks in the game). Kemp plays a much more important defensive position, and he's a much better defensive player than Braun to begin with.
Kemp was the best player (MVP) by a wide margin.
