Who would you take, Cam Newton or Mike Vick?

Cam has put together enough great games now that I think the question is legit.

He's younger, bigger, a dynamic player in his own right and doesn't quite have the injury concerns that Vick does.

Now, Vick is obviously more electric but does have the injury concerns and all that.

Maybe it's not time to elevate Cam to Vick's level but if faced with choice, who would you pick??

Long-term, I take Cam, younger, cheaper, etc. For this year or one game, I think I'm actually undecided as of this point.

Lemme know what y'all think...

You realize that there's not one thing that Newton does on the football field better than Vick, right? He's taller, that's about it....

Vick has a stronger arm and last year showed it's accurate. He's faster, more elusive, and he's proven it over time.

Just like PVC, I'm a Cam Newton fan too. I like Cam and didn't think he'd be a bust - I wasn't as vocal about it as PVC though and will give him all the glory on that one since it's his guy. Regardless, even Cam Newton guys wouldn't back him here. He'd love to be that dangerous at some point in his career.

To me, it's not about what Cam does better but more of what he is...

He's like a Big Ben/Vick hybrid type almost. Stronger, maybe better passer (we'll see tho), not as good a runner but still a dynamic force.

And doesn't seem to have the injury concerns.

I don't think it's silly to ask this question yet at all. Coming into the year, this question would have been a joke but Cam is looking pretty impressive thus far. I'll admit it's prob a lil early but even so, seems like it could be a legit thing to ask

Vick has injury concerns because he has the 2nd worst offensive line in the NFL in front of him. He's a injury concern because he's so good - meaning he's so mobile that he doesn't get hit while he's stationary very often. Watching the Panthers game today, I couldn't believe how many times they used Cam on the run. It's simply idiotic. If they keep doing that, you'll learn he's every bit the injury concern that Vick is. This is the NFL, and if you're getting crushed by 300-350 pound men all day you'll get hurt eventually.

As I said, PVC likes Newton more than I do but we both like him a lot. Neither would even take this question seriously and I'm pretty sure PVC would have a sex change and give himself ovaries in order to have his babies.

Well of course, but Cam's size is definitely something that may keep him from being as banged up as Vick has been.

Vick clearly has more talent, which isn't something I'm disputing. But I wasn't asking who the more talented guy is, I'm asking who people will take and do think the injury concerns play a factor

Cam has rejuvenated Steve Smith (My guy, just ask anyone in any fantasy league I've ever been in since he'll never be drafted by anyone else because I will always overrate him), and he has made me look like a genius - Steve has won me a title, lost me one and been on the bench for another title, regardless I consider him a top 5 receiver. I saw that black on black swag coming from a mile away.

What's he proven over time? What are his career passing numbers? For the record, he's 1-5 in his last 6 starts. And how elusive is he? I believe he's only had one season where's played all 16 games so he ain't too damn elusive. Someone's been catching his ass and hurting him every year.

So me assuming from this post that you like Newton better than Vick makes me delusional? Interesting... A question is asked who is better, and you chime in and rip one of the players. Vick had by far the better team.

Newton by far looked like the better QB ... hands down.

That is what I look for. Real evidence to back my opinions.

Newton looked like a seasoned QB where as Vick looked like he was a "deer in the headlights" the whole game.

When Vick came into the league, people thought he was gonna revolutionize the game. I wonder if Cam may be the next mold that may conjure up the same opinions.

in a dynasty league, i moved cam/ingram/sidney rice for vick/turner

already have brees at qb so getting vick is just for trade bait

seen cam/vick be involved in trades in other leagues too... interesting stuff
