Just saw on the NFL channel that the NFL will open the season on Sept 5th.... A WEDNESDAY!!!!

LOVED the Thursday night opener but now a Wednesday? How long before we have NFL football 7 days a week?

I see that this move is because the NFL doesn't want to compete with the President's speech at the Democratic convention.

I think if Obama knew what was good for him he would move his speech. NFL runs this country!

100% agree. Nothing like an early game and a west coast football game. Not sure if this could be a regular theme in the NFL but the opening weekend is a fantastic setting for this.

I'm usually experiencing football burnout by Monday... My favorite day is Thursday night especially towards the end of the season when you get a NFL game in addition to the NCAA's offerings...
