Thanks, TPB. It's the kind of thing that's inevitable when pros and ams mix company. And, I agree on Detroit's record. Impressive, but aided and abetted by new rules. I used to like the old NHL standings with the ties.

While I agree with you, its still a very small sample size plus Dink is on record saying he is not sure if the followers win. Lets see what happens after a few hundred plays

Detroit goes down tonight at home. +150, should be a +180 but I'm taking a shot on the predators. The devils at home & the sharks as well.

Munson, if Dink's play yesterday was a 2 unit play then why would the loss be -2.5 units?
Please forgive my ignorance as I am very green when it comes to gambling. I've been following this forum and listening to the radio show as much as I can to soak up some knowledge. Any information is greatly appreciated.

ok, if the play is 2 units then the bet should be enough to win 2 units. i was thinking if the play is 2 units then the bet amount should be 2 units.
so on the flip side, if the side that is being played is +125 then the bet amount should be 8/10 of a unit so the win amount will be exatcly 1 unit?
now that i think about it, this makes perfect sense. win more when playing favorit and risk less when playing dogs. like i said, i am green.

Not exactly, Berry. Most guys play 100 to win 125 on the dog and 125 to win 100 on the favorite. It's a matter of personal preference, and only reflects how I keep my records and how I personally play. If you like, you can tweak your units in the way you described, betting 80 to win 100 on the dog and 100 to win 80 on the fave. The main thing to me is being consistent in your approach, whatever that may be.
