there's absolutely no way we could answer this question w/o much more info on how scoring is calculated in your league.

Without any other info, I'd probably go with Hensley b/c the game against Olsen is almost an auto-win and I think he'll be fine tonight, though they're big dogs.

Depending on the scoring I would likely take Hensley. I like their chances as dogs against the ice cold Brew Crew today, and he should be able to more then hold his own against the Marlins in his next start.

Either way best of luck in your fantasy league dirty.

why is the game vs Olsen an "auto win"? is it b/c florida has won 9 of 12 or because olsen is the more talented pitcher by a good margin?

I was leaning Clay...... Seems like the last 3-4 weeks when I make a Decision to do this comes back to Haunt me.... This week I benched Verlander against the WS and watch him do CG shutouts

I have thought of Using Clay in RP spot as I don't think Ray will get More than 3 save Ops this week on the road with Baltimore....and with 2 starts there is a good shot you get at least that many Points...

Glavs is pitching well and thruout his whole career has handled the dodgers well, or at least when he is in ATL....

because of the huge bonus for IP, you need to play the pitcher who will throw the most innings, so nothing changes my answer: Hensley.

BTW, good thing they have that +25 bonus for perfect games thrown! :+clueless

I think it is in there for shits and giggles for the Most part...as this is a league that has used the scoring system like that that we set up for the last 5-6 years.... We tweak it every year trying to get it better, but it is pretty fair right now. Thanks for the opinions guys..

no. thats not what you said at all. you are changing your views and reasons but feel the need to stick with your choice. its ok.

you said the fla game was an "auto win" b/c you dont know a lot about these players and likely should tell someone that before trying to give them advice. :)

Maybe it's b/c the Padres are the much better team??? Yeah, that's probably it.

well, if you would like some more education...the Florida marlins have actually scored me runs than SD this year. So you have the higher scoring team in the marlins and the more talented pitcher in Olsen....

not that you have ever seen either or heard of either prior to april of 2006.... your reasoning is flawed each time you attempt to come up with something. also, the better team is always an "auto win"?

:)

I wasn't responding to you with that post, I was responding to the original poster who posted the scoring rules for his league. I know you couldn't tell that, because this message board doesn't show who you are responding to if you don't actually quote their post, but that's what I was doing.

And why are you saying that I changed my views and reasons when I gave Hensley as the aswer and then, after receiving the scoring rules, stated:

because of the huge bonus for IP, you need to play the pitcher who will throw the most innings, so nothing changes my answer: Hensley

I still feel that he's the play b/c I think he'll be fine tonight and because they'll will have an auto-win against Florida. Of course, nothing is automatic is baseball, but I assume they will probably be big favorites that day.

:cheers

again:
Olsen is more talented
Fla scores more runs
Florida is the hottest team in the NL

hardly an "auto win"

im just here to educate. i feel i have done so with you. now you know more about baseball.

:cheers

Here's one for ya..

Do I go with Kevin Millwood, who's scheduled for 2 starts, but is nursing a bad back and was already pushed back once. Being pushed back again would result in a one start week, he is listed as questionable now for Tuesday.

Or do I start Jason Schmidt, who is on fire and his one start this week is against Florida?

mofome

this is a great rematch b/w johnson and schmidt. With jason going on tuesday there is alwasy a chance the giants could move him up in the rotation and allow him to get a 2nd start in the week. last time this game was pretty close until the Fla BP came in and the Giants pulled away. with the Ks Jason should supply and the trouble in the past Miguel Cabrera has had with Schimidt i would lean towards playing the big sf righty

head to head points leagues are all i could stand to play. anything else is simply dreadful IMO.

points reflect your players production. great way to do it and thebest leagues

I have Schmidt in now, just wanted to make sure I wasn't way off base.

Also have Suppan, H Ramirez and Zambrano with 2 start weeks. Should be a good one for me.

with roto your points are based on the teams overall performance over the entire year, not getting hot during the head to head matchup

JMO, I do like head to head for foots, I think thats the only way to go

this is based on all year...with 23 games yuo are not going to get wins with a bad team. with so many matchups, unlike football, you cant luck your way into the palyoffs...but you can certainly get a hot two weeks from some dorks and win a league once in the playoffs. each of the first 4 seasons in our leagues were won by the WC teams...lol
worst team to make the playoffs wins it....pretty fun leagues

:cheers

My post wasn't at all uneducated. I've done pretty well in the various fantasy baseball leagues I've entered and feel I'm qualified to give advice.

My advice was because of Hensley's starts this week, he's the better play. Maybe "auto win" is a little too optimistic b/c Florida has been better of late, but certainly they aren't better than SD. And SD will probably be pretty decent sized favorites that day I would think.

If you're referring to Nut6's post, I wasn't really bashing. OK, maybe I was a little. I just think the +200 units in one month people are inflating numbers, even if it's unintentionally. If you bet 500, 1000, and 1500 per game, those are 1, 2, and 3 units plays, not 5, 10, and 15. I don't expect you to understand that because you do the same "10-star blue play" bullshit. My personal favorite was when you were doing the different colors of black and gray. Remember when some of the play's were black, some were dark gray, some were light gray, etc.?? That was classic.

Anyway, I think that your bashing and nit picking and everything is ridiculous. Nobody around here takes you seriously with your silly little act. And, as far as my knowledge of baseball, I don't see how you could have any idea of what that is. We've never discussed baseball together and you really don't know anything at all about me. So calm down already.

Love,
Mark

many people here take me seriously, ask for my views, read my threads, and ask for my plays. none of those things are the case with you. :)

ive read plenty to know about your baseball knowledge and if you would care to talk about anything, lets do so. you tell me the best deal made by any team in baseball over the last 10 years. Or, tell me your thoughts on the deal that sent baez to LA

facts:
you did bash nut6 for no reason. who cares if you dont think he is wagering with real money? you state here that i dont know you, implying that i shouldnt pretend i know you, but you post to someone you dont know pretending that you have some idea as to what he does. lol

wanna take a guess at the line on the Olsen game? im guessing yours isnt going to be as inflated now tho, so the game wouldnt be as fun now that you know a little about olsen. i do realize that prior to this talk you didnt know him from a hole in the ground. :)

Your arguments are so nonsensical and irrelevant, I can't continue this debate any longer. This is my last post in this thread.

BTW, how come no YTD records in your daily pics thread??? Actually, nevermind, I think we all know the answer to that. Don't bother responding, I'm done with this.
