Michigan casinos could launch online sports betting and gambling games in December

Well at least in your first 9 you don't have to deal with the clowns at FoxBet. They won't let you parlay a side and total in today's games. WTF? Wonder if they will ban you from doing it in the Super Bowl too?

Does a VPN affect off shore books??

Yes you have to shut it down completely to be able to use your computer or phone with sports books. You don't have to remove it, it just can't be active in any way when you log in. When you sign in there is software to do a location check and it looks for the presence of a VPN. Never say never, someone might have figured out how to subvert these checks but I'm sure they are making it absolutely as hard to do as possible.

FanDuel is offering Pistons +95 vs Lakers tomorrow, lol.

Is it just +95 or one of those we move the line every 500 bets we receive deals? FD's offers and odds boosts have gotten a bit lean recently, I think they finally hit the switch to stop giving away so much in Colorado. We'll see how the Super Bowl goes.

Correct, for every so many bets, the line moves a 1 point.

Those promos are interesting just on how much money they are giving away. They tell you how many bettors it takes and you can do the math, its in the millions.

How do the promos seem to be going out in Michigan? In Colorado its definitely died down. Many of the promos now are for parlays and not even that good. I mean a 10% parlay boost when you are taking out more than that in house edge is pretty bad. Couple of books are becoming pretty useless too. Fox has the worst odds and some of their "boosts" are insulting. I have seen some where only an idiot would bet what they are offering. And SBK, a book that I raved about at first, now has almost no market offering. I went to bet an NBA line yesterday and it said $34 was the max bet. If you bet the $34 there is no offering for minutes and sometimes hours. Its really an exchange trying to be a book, which is completely unworkable. As I kind of expected you get about a year to grab all the cash you can and then the books stop being that attractive and you have to start winning the old fashioned way.

the promos remind me of the dinosaur tar pits

Let's put it this way. I have made 26k as an amateur betting in Colorado books since it opened May 1, 2020. I made 21k through the month of September, 5k since it. That 21k was during a time of minimal sports, but blow your socks off bonuses plus all the signup bonuses and free plays I could get made me a pretty solid winner with really no risk. I am no fool, bonuses and offers are where us amateur bettors are going to make most of our money and build up our bankrolls.

i never said it was a loser. I just don;t like having any money frozen with all the rules. I make them send me money which some do but not all.. However they send me only enough for breakfast at the diner.

I've noticed some of the Michigan offers.

If I don't play with a book for a couple of weeks, the offers start pouring in. Now that there is a little void in big events, we'll see if they contuinue.

To a degree this is true. MGM does that a lot, I go on a trip out of state for a few days and suddenly I've got offers galore. One of the tricks with them is to leave in a balance, they use bonus offers to keep you from withdrawing funds. Fox used to do this, but they seem to have stopped. Draft Kings seems to offer the best day to day bonuses, but I don't recall a bonus that would have been from no activity. Fan Duel started out being the bonus kings, but have cut back drastically. Last offer I got from them was so meaningless, was something like deposit $50 and get $10 bonus.

I'm wondering how long until MGM cuts me off from bonuses. I use them a fair amount but have just run really lucky there. A lot of my arbs and middles end up there and they just so happen to be on the winning side more often than not. I'm up 11k with them alone. The bonuses with them aren't that great though, but more than others seem to offer lately.

you would think with all the money fan duel has... they have horrible software... not smooth as nevada books or draft kings

To me the worst software issue are the apps that log you out if you switch to look at anything else. Fox does this, Fan Duel does it, Circa does it sometimes but SuperBook, MGM, Score and Draft Kings don't. Nothing more annoying than trying to take one last look on if you got the best price and you have to log in again.

I wonder what will be at the end of the year come tax time? Will everyone who bet sports on a mobile app get issued some sort of a W2-G for gross wagering income?

i never got one since NJ opened... and i play every day except before and after the A.S game... and i play those 2 days if JK like something in the WNBA

I didn't get one either. Generally they come for large wins, 300-1 or higher. So if you get $1875 from fantasy then you probably put in $5 entry?

$5 single entry in the Wash/Dallas game - pick 6, one being a wild card. Finished 1st out of 5975 entries.
