Was watching the Reggie Jackson documentary on Prime Video, which was very good. Vida Blue was on, and Blue, Jackson, Rudi, etc were sitting around talking about the Charlie O days and how cheap he was. Blue said that he was coming off something like a 24-6 season, with a fantastic ERA asked Charlie O for a raise. Charlie said to him even though your win-loss was fantastic, your strike outs decreased like 15% from the previous year, and because of that, didn't think he deserved a raise. Blue held out the beginning of the season until Bowie Kuhn mediated to get a resolution.
