I blame the first baseman equally.

A: he wasn't really "ready"

B: he could have come off the bag to get the throw.

Second baseman thru it bad but the first baseman should have had it as well. I'm rooting for Oregon St but at the same time I'm almost hoping the NC second baseman hits a leadoff dinger and OSU wins it in extras just cause I feel bad for the kid.

If I am not mistaken that is the backup 2nd sacker....as they pinch hit for the starter in the early innings when they scored thier runs...and the dude got rung up ...

Top of the ninth. NC batting. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.

OSU just brought in stud closer Kevin Gunderson.

NC's top hitter hit a weak grounder to first. 1B throws to second and gets the runner. Pitcher loses this shoe heading to cover first and the runner BARELY made it. 1st and 3rd with 2 outs.

Hitter hit a massive fly to center. Didn't go that far but it was high.

OSU caught it.

was also backup at first base. I believe it was the catcher.

Had the starting 1B been there it likely would have been an out.

Either way, it was a bad throw.

Poor kid's gonna live with that the rest of his life...
