A look inside my NHL Program for today

I was involved in an auto accident thursday evening but feeling better today.. Thought i would share a look inside my NHL program and offer a little as to how it works.. I have not abandoned the other thread.. I will pick it back up..

Lets look at the entire board..

This is how my program views todays games..

% chance to win contest..

Montreal 69%
Boston 68%
Pitt 64%
Tor 64%
Stl 64%
SJ 62%
Ott 55%
Nash 55%
Minn 54%
NJ 54%
Isles 50%
Ana 50%

We then must apply the betting line to each selection... In doing this i can determine a Value Rating for each team..

Isles (22.5)
Mont (19.4)
Ana (14.75)
Minn (10.7)
Bos (8.8)
Ott (7.75)
Pitt (4.6)
SJ (3.1)
NJ (1.1)
Stl (1.0)
Tor (-2.6)
Nash (-14.75)

Now one must determine whether to be a Value player or a player who simply wants the best % chance to win... One would lead to a higher volume of plays and the other, perhaps a simply best play to win today..

I consider Montreal (-160) the best play on the board today... The Islanders may offer the best Value once the line is considered but they only have a 50% chance to win the game today.. and today is what we should consider over any other factors.. The Islanders and TB are not going to play 100 or 1000 times today, they are going to play just once.. Now dont get me wrong, Value players should be on the Isles as well as the other higher listed Value plays..

In saying all this my Play for today will be Montreal (-160) based solely off my work..

You can see how i view each game as for "who should win" and the value placed on each...

Montreal came thru on Saturday as a nice 3 unit winner...

Here is my work and plays for Sunday..

%%% chance to win

Anaheim 61%
Minn 58%
Montreal 53%
Dallas 52%
SJ 52%
Ariz 51%

Now with those selections we will apply the lines and take a look at the Value chart..

Ana (-13.1) neg value
Minn (-13.4) neg value
Mont (+27.4) great value
Dallas (50.8) great value
SJ (-17.6) neg value
Ariz (+9.65) slight value


Now lets apply the value to the win %% and see if we can come up with a play or 2... No way will be ever play any negative value plays, so that quikly eliminates (ana, minn and sj)... So here is what i played for today..


Montreal (+140) 1 unit
Dallas (+190) 1 unit

2 small value plays for only 1 unit, you can contrast those to the Montreal play from yesterday which had a win %% of (69%) with a value rating of (+19.4)...

The win %%% on mont and dal are very small and that is why we are going with only a one unit play on each.. Remember we can only choose a play from the selected program choice, never on the other side..

Hoping to win one of the two tonight and turn a profit..

i thought sly may post todays email but here was the nhl work for tuesday. from many hours ago..

the 4 50% games were eliminated, program has to pick a side for me to apply the value filter to the equation..

all 3 negative values are eliminate (sj, la and dal) although i highly expect sj and la to win tonight...
det was also elimnated due to the fact of only a 54% chance to win with little value, the line was not out this morning when i ran this but i knew they would not qualify tonight..

this leaves me with the 3 plays tonight..

nash (+105) 1.5 units
nj (+105) 1.5 units
ana (-120) 1.5 units
