Yup....personalities fueled the boom. Farha, Raymar, Hellmuth, Gold et al. Now it's a bunch of punk kids that nobody is interested in seeing. Plus pushing the Final table back months was figuratively pulling the popularity plug.
We're talking about a 7 table room here, and most of the casualties are from venues that are relatively small. The industry although far declined from its peak is still fairly healthy with tours and a record turnout at this year's WSOP a welcome sight. Those rooms in more popular, prestigious and casinos that are up kept aren't likely to go anywhere anytime soon. There still has to be at least 400 rooms available still spread among Sin City.
It was refreshing playing without all the orientals at Southpoint last weekend, in LA its 90pct Asians, compared to 9pct, in vegas they lack social skills and then they order the obnoxious garlic plates.
