Article on Thinking & Facing Reality

Re: Article on Thinking & Facing Reality

I think that the guy's point was to not buy chocolate cake at a hardware store. Hard to find such discerning insight these days.

Personally, I find escapism and denial to be far more useful tools, lol.

In my field at least, logic and rationality are fungible concepts. If a jury is presented with "logical" arguments by two lawyers, they're more likely to be persuaded the logic presented by the lawyer who is more appealing, whether by just basic attractiveness or demeanor. Jurors' perception of logic are being affected by things going in in the most basic parts of their limbic brains before the first bit of "logic" is uttered. Have watched many a lawyer lose an otherwise pretty decent case by talking down to or over the heads of the jury rather than connecting with them.

And in sports betting, logic, or at least what many bettors believe to be logical, is one of the surest paths to insolvency there is.

But a good point about not going to Ace Hardware for cake.
