Garvey had a pretty decorated career compared to Oliver and Garrett Anderson (another he’s compared to). He had success in the playoffs also.

i think you have to let Al oliver in if you let garvey in. Garrett Anderson almost same numbers as garvey but played in the drug years. They look at those number a lot closer IMO.

Steve Garvey had Popeye forearms.

I remember a game-winning homer he hit to the opposite field in a playoff game against Lee Smith and the Cubs.

Garvey's teammates carried him off the field in celebration.

The year was 1984 and Garvey was a member of the San Diego Padres.
