Am I reading this link right? He put the bet in when they were about to kick the Field Goal? JFC, this is getting weirder and weirder.

I had read he put the best in with 1:10 to go. Here's the PBP. They were still in their own territory at the time he claimed.
  1. Denver Broncos at 01:58
  2. 1-10-DEN 20(1:58) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass incomplete short left to 80-J.Butt [99-A.Key]. PENALTY on DEN-72-G.Bolles, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at DEN 20 - No Play.
  3. 1-20-DEN 10(1:51) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass incomplete short right to 88-De.Thomas (22-R.Melvin).
  4. 2-20-DEN 10(1:47) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass deep right to 10-E.Sanders to DEN 31 for 21 yards (29-L.Hall).
  5. 1-10-DEN 31(1:25) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass incomplete deep right to 88-De.Thomas (22-R.Melvin).
  6. 2-10-DEN 31(1:21) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass short left to 80-J.Butt to DEN 45 for 14 yards (21-G.Conley; 31-M.Gilchrist).
  7. 1-10-DEN 45:)58) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass incomplete short left to 14-C.Sutton [51-B.Irvin].
  8. 2-10-DEN 45:)54) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum scrambles right end to OAK 48 for 7 yards (59-T.Whitehead).
  9. 3-3-OAK 48:)26) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass short right to 82-J.Heuerman pushed ob at OAK 44 for 4 yards (59-T.Whitehead).
  10. 1-10-OAK 44:)22) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass incomplete short right to 88-De.Thomas.
  11. 2-10-OAK 44:)18) (Shotgun) 4-C.Keenum pass short left to 81-T.Patrick ran ob at OAK 18 for 26 yards (27-R.Nelson).
  12. 1-10-OAK 18:)10) 8-B.McManus 36 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-42-C.Kreiter, Holder-1-M.King.

That is what I read as well but this article said he should have gotten a price of 1 to 6 or -600.

"A 36-yard field goal has approximately an 85 percent chance of success, so the astronomical odds offered on something highly likely to occur was very obviously a pricing error," the company said...... FanDuel says its system should have calculated his odds at 1-6, meaning a bettor would have to wager $600 in order to win $100. Prince bet $110 on the Broncos but was stopped when he went to collect from FanDuel's betting window."

FD may be spinning this for whatever reason but either way, it's a colossal fuck-up, we're just talking degrees at this point.

Is 82k worth the advertisement it's gotten? I've heard it mentioned on numerous radio shows, forums, podcasts.. Maybe FD is winning?

How did he bet this? Did he go to a window and place it or use an online App or something? Do we know?

It's alot more than 82K as a I guess a total of 12 people bet the mispricing.

He bet at a window at the Meadowlands. Several others bet online or app.

The dude with 82k needs to quit gambling. He will have bad karma for years.

I bet he loses it back in 5 months.

Thanks. Interesting stuff.

Whoever punched that ticket will be out of work unless you take the view that they are now the last person in the world to make that mistake again.

It's gonna be over 82K and to answer your question, I'd say it's worth millions in the positive publicity this is gonna get them over the long haul. I know I already opened an account, even though I'm in NY, and will fund it and bet there as soon as it's allowed in my state. I suspect I'm not alone.

Gamebred,

Eagles -6.5 this week in NFL. Colts 2nd straight road game, Eagles still a top notch team and Wentz will give them a boost.

GL my man and I missed you.

Eagles are my favorite team even though I've seen them like once in the last 5 years (Superbowl).

I don't bet the NFL but thanks for thinking of me and Good luck.

I tend to agree. He obviously would’ve been paid in Vegas, not sure why people would think New Jersey would be any different.

This POS will get banned by every sportsbook in NJ obviously. Hopefully Las Vegas as well.

This is basically stealing, like taking a money bag that falls off a Brinks truck

Sets an ugly precedent.

Check your tickets when leaving the window or confirming your wagers.

The "cheating/mistakes" are possible on both ends.

JK, I just learned this week that I am a naive uneducated rube.

can I get 89 dollars? as I figure that’s what I need to get an uber for $12
to my local gun show, bypassing the mandatory wait period, and purchase
a game used heater with one bullet for $75, I’ll use the other $2 for a package
of hostess cupcakes, love those with the frosted white swirl on top,
before I head out to pasture, old yella style

LMAO at all the jealous fucks here calling him a shot taker...the guy is some rube who got lucky. He bet 110 on a +75000 line. Only fools automatically bet -110 anyway and in a situation like this its obvious the guy doesnt know what he is doing. That should tell you all you need to know. Unless he was so 'smart' he did it tto LOOK like a noob and has been waiting decades for sportsbetting to come to NJ or some other east coast state and sits there and has screen watched for the entire lifetime of NFL betting there (2 weeks and one game).

Hopefully the guy doesnt know shit or isnt stupid enough to think he knows shit and quits gambling. Coin flip probably. Some guys get addicted others know they got lucky.

Also obvious by the comments here from guys who have never bet at an actual casino and others who let offshore books fuck them in the ass on a daily basis. EVERY brick and mortar shop pays a ticket as written, end of story. Good or bad. The only question was going ot be if NJ or any of the other place have those same laws.

The stories say he was going to court and not a commission so that might be an indicator. Or maybe he was such a noob he didnt know about the commission, I am sure they have one. If anyone took 5 seconds to look up what the state rule is (and if they dont have one they better) on how tickets are written and paid and any sort of 'technical' issues ( I know for a fact there are dozens of them for slot machines in every state that has those) then they would have known.

I suspect fanduel was legally obligated to pay and thats why they did it. They just wanted to take the time to look up the actual law, so who was shot taking whom? Books and casinos are all scum, they arent places that simply let you wager legally between different parties, they all gamble and they all want to take your money no matter what that takes. Hilarious people here are trying to side with them over something as obvious as this.

I can only speak for myself. I made no comments on whether or not he would get paid because I had no idea.

The comment I made, I stand by. It was an ignorant news story.

The Headline was, “Sportsbook screws bettor out of big pay day,” when it should read, “Sportsbook screws itself.”

No one was trying to fuck this guy, he was trying to fuck the book and he eventually did with no vaseline. Whatever, the dude robbed them blind. Guys like you and him need to do that shit to get paid, I just need a price ladder.

I don’t begrudge the guy for finding his pot of gold but I do consider it ill-gotten gains but he doesn’t give a fuck and most other people don’t either.
